EA FC 27 Inconsistent Connection Issues

Hi,

I'm having inconsistent ping in FC 27 Ultimate Team on PS5. Some matches sit around 14–16 ms, while others are 40–50 ms or higher. The higher ping makes the game noticeably less responsive and jitters become a problem.

I'm on 1 Gbps fibre with Pineapple Net in Melbourne, Australia. I've run ping tests during affected matches and haven't seen any corresponding latency spikes or connection issues on my local network or to cloudflare/google.

My EA Connection Quality Report covers 115 matches over the past week, with an average ping of 24.31 ms and a connection score of 70.

I'm trying to investigate this with my ISP, but I can't identify the EA server IP to run targeted ping or traceroute tests. I'm guessing base don the ISP comparisons that what I'm experiencing is not intentional?

Could you help investigate why my connection varies so much between matches and advise on the best next steps?

    They help most people to get their issues fixed so worth taking a look.

    If you speak with your ISP they can work with you on making improvements, they may be able to help identify a pattern with you.

    If you see the issue only during peak periods, then it may simply be bandwidth-related.

    Hi EA_Darko​,

    I have completed all the guidance and troubleshooting from your support docs supplied and also did a ping test while playing to verify that there is no disruption or latency experienced on my connection when pinging both CloudFlare and Google. The latency differences are on a game by game basis and if you could look at my performance logs you would see the inconsistencies.

    Is this inconsistency expected? Or perhaps am I being routed to servers that aren't local and that's why it's different for those instances? 

    I have location based matchmaking enabled but the inconsistency with finding matches with consistent latency around 14-20ms would be expected but I'm getting plenty of games that are 40-50ms too. Is this expected? It wasn't ever like this last title.

    Any questions around routing would need to be directed to your ISP AetherGaming​ as they are the ones responsible for that.

    Issues like you describe do appear to be network or ISP related given the frequency of them.
