Input DelayPacket Loss and Suspected EA Server Routing Issues in Georgia
I am posting this because I have been dealing with a persistent connection issue in FC 27, and after exhausting almost every possible troubleshooting option, I strongly believe this is a routing or connectivity issue between my ISP and EA’s servers.
The problem:
I play FC 27 on PS5 using a wired Ethernet connection through Magti (Magticom) in Georgia. In Ultimate Team, my inputs frequently register with a significant delay. For example, I press X to pass the ball, but the action can take several seconds to register. This happens in approximately 80% of my matches. Sometimes the first half feels relatively smooth, only for the delay to become significantly worse in the second half.
The in-game connection indicators often remain green even when the gameplay is clearly delayed, making them unreliable for identifying the actual problem.
I have already tried extensive troubleshooting:
- Tested different Ethernet cables, including replacing a cable that may not have been making a proper connection.
- Checked my PS5’s wired connection and network settings.
- Investigated DNS settings, IP configuration, and router settings, including UPnP.
- Ran connection tests and diagnostics, including ping, traceroute, and packet-loss tests.
- Checked the EA Connection Quality Report, which showed approximately 27 ms ping, 0.13 ms jitter, and 4.55% packet loss, with a connection quality score of around 60%.
- Tested my connection through a mobile hotspot, although the ping was around 200 ms, making it unsuitable as a permanent alternative.
- Tested GearUP, a third-party game-routing service. The gameplay improved significantly during testing, suggesting that the network route to EA’s servers may be contributing to the issue.
- Contacted my ISP, Magti. Unfortunately, their support has not provided a solution.
I have also confirmed that other online games work normally on the same connection. This is not a general internet problem affecting everything I play.
I understand that some connection issues can originate with the user’s ISP or home network. However, the symptoms, the EA connection report, the improvement when using an alternative routing service, and the fact that other games work properly all make me question the routing path used to connect to EA’s servers.
I have also seen other players reporting similar gameplay delays and connection problems. This makes it even more important to investigate whether there is a wider issue affecting certain regions, ISPs, or routes to EA’s servers.
What I expect from EA:
Please investigate the routing and connectivity between EA’s FC 27 servers and players using Magti in Georgia, as well as other potentially affected networks. Please do not dismiss this as a generic Wi-Fi or router issue when I am using Ethernet and have already performed extensive troubleshooting.
Players should not have to pay for third-party routing services just to make a full-price game playable. If the problem is related to server routing, network peering, or another infrastructure issue, EA needs to investigate it and work toward a proper solution.
I am not asking for another generic troubleshooting checklist. I have already spent considerable time testing my setup. I am asking EA to investigate the underlying connectivity problem and provide a meaningful response.
Please take this seriously and escalate the issue to the team responsible for FC 27’s online infrastructure.
