Forum Discussion
Same thing happened to me and I posted about it in a different thread. What appears to have occurred is that EA coded the invent so that the training tasks only count if completed using the 111-version of the player. However, they DID NOT COMMUNICATE this to users in the training task descriptions (e.g., it only says “Complete three passes with Mastantuono”) or the event instructions. And, according to another thread I read, rather than fix the code to enable us to use the higher version of the Future Stars player to complete the task, they instead created a “workaround” whereby you can “re-purchase” the 111-version of your player. Of course, EA couldn’t just gift us the 111-version (which would have been the proper thing to do since this situation was created by their error and their poor quality control.). No, instead they are charging us 1,500 gems for it! And they STILL haven’t updated the event instructions (or posted a clarification here in the forums) to notify folks about the glitch in their event and prevent us from wasting more of our time! Everyone who has posted here (myself included) has wasted our time (multiple times) trying in vain to win the training task rewards, and EA shows no respect for the fact that their error and their lack of communication about it has robbed us of this time.
In my case, the only training task I missed initially was the direct free kick in the final game which provides a 1,000 gem prize. So, now that I’ve already traded in for the 117-version, EA is expecting me to PAY 1,500 gems to win 1,000 gems!!! If you ask me, this says everything you need to know about this company. (1) They can’t go a week without introducing a new bug into this game. (2) They never just own up to their error and fix it with a straightforward solution that holds users unharmed (like just giving everyone a FREE “re-purchase” of the Future Stars player to player). (3) When in doubt, they seek to claw back value from users rather than treat us with respect like valued customers. In this instance, they are robbing me (and, I’m sure, others) of a lousy 1,000 gems (that I’ve earned twice over), and for what? Just to be stingy? What does it cost them to show some respect for our time? Gouging us for 1,500 gems is NOTHING for them, but it’s a matter of principle for all of us!
At this point, I’m so sick and tired of EA’s disrespect. It’s one thing to make mistakes, but how you handle them matters. And EA has utterly failed (again) to communicate with us clearly and proactively about this one and they’ve compounded their error by failing to show us the respect of holding us harmless for their mistake.

EA_Pulsar, could we please get some clarification (and, ideally, some resolution) on this issue? I’ve tried my best to piece together what’s happening with this event (and why there are a significant number of users who can’t claim prizes they feel they’ve won), but it sure would be nice for someone from EA to bring some clarity and actually do right by us.
As it stands, we completed the training tasks according to the parameters/information provided in the text of the event, but we are still unable to obtain the rewards. This doesn’t seem fair, and the “workaround” (that I just happened to learn about in another thread) doesn’t actually fix the problem — as I’ve stated above it costs more to “re-purchase” the 111-rated card (1,500 gems) than the final bonus task (which I’ve already completed twice) is worth (1,000 gems). As a result, I (and likely others) have no path to obtain the 1,000 gem prize despite completing all of the tasks and bonus tasks per the text/parameters provided in the event. The bottomline here is pretty simple: We just want EA to respect the time we’ve invested in the event and to hold us harmless for any discrepancy that exists between the event description (which does not specific the rating of the player card that must be used) and the underlying code (which only credits tasks completed with the original (111 OVR) version.

We all know they won't do anything to fix this and compensate us. Thursday will just get us new events and players and new bugs so we can complain again and get no answers and solutions.

EA_Pulsar I am politely requesting again to have this issue addressed. There were a great many of us who were adversely affected by the poor design of this event and the “workaround” did not suffice to allow many of us to collect the prizes we earned fair and square. It’s frustrating enough to have wasted our time on the event, but ignoring our reports and doing nothing to make us whole for the lost prizes just pours salt in the wound. Can we please just receive the rewards we are owed?
