Yes, it’s about the server distance, BUT it’s also about EA’s matchmaking algorithm. Personally, I would rather wait an extra minute or two for match that is actually fun to play rather than continue with the garbage gameplay that is currently H2H. I mean EA have embedded so much AI to try and compensate for the inevitable lag that I feel like I’m competing at least as much with it as I am my “opponent.”
H2H (human versus human in a real match) ought to be the best part of any self-respecting football franchise and it’s the absolute worst part of FC Mobile. That’s just sad, and, if I’m honest, it’s insulting to all of us who live football (and once loved “FIFA”). So, I applaud everyone who is speaking up to say “this stinks.” It’s long overdue. Maybe EA will ignore us, but if there’s even an sliver a chance that they’ll sit up and take notice (say, by tweaking the matchmaking so that I’m only playing geographically local users where I can enjoy a relatively lag-free game) then it’s worth it.
There was a system where you were only playing geographically local players in your region, and for people like me (at the arse end of the world … population wise anyway), it was great and meant that h2h was finally playable for me.
Unfortunately the broader player base hated it, and regions were scrapped in favour of what we have now, which is region first searching for matches that broadens as time elapses.
The broader player base is also not interested in waiting a minute or two to find a match, and generally documents if they don’t match near instantly.
It would be good to have nice things, unfortunately the majority of people these days are not interested in waiting or compromising for them 😞
