Yeah, I’ve now collected 87 Anniversary cards and half are worth just 5 shards, Thus far I’ve gotten only one 110 (nothing higher). Just complete garbage.
There’s no reason to expect them to increase drop rates on the 111-113 cards, BUT they ought to show the F2P community at least a little respect and make the low cards worth a minimum of 10 shards (so we can at least accumulate enough shards to trade in for one or two meta cards by the end of a month-long event). For example, it’s an insult to complete a weekend Ultimate Challenge (which is both time consuming and ridiculously hard in the final match) and receive nothing but a 5-shard piece of crap card.
EA can say they “listen” to us, but their actions tell a different story. Time and again they treat us with the same contempt that a casino has for its gamblers — we’re all just suckers to them and if they can’t part us from our money then we are of no use or interest to them. They ask for feedback on the game, we give it, and we get no reply. We ask for them to fix fundamental issues with gameplay and they do nothing. This is not a respectful relationship — it’s exploitative. And just because EA needs to make a profit doesn’t mean it HAS to be this way. No, it’s a choice EA is making and only they can fix it. Plenty of companies turn massive profits while doing right by their customers and this breeds incredible brand loyalty. I’m old enough to remember when this USED to be true of EA and its gamers (back when “if it’s in the game, it’s in the game” meant something). But year by year they’ve squandered all of that good will and they now seem past the point of caring to try and earn it back. It’s as sad as it is infuriating.
