Worst exchange decision in FC Mobile history

Honestly, this feels like the worst Beckham exchange decision in FC Mobile history. Many of us spent weeks grinding to earn the Beckham 113, only to find out it was a total waste — it can now be bought for just 1250 Footyverse Shards. Then, when the exchange arrived, they changed the condition from Beckham 111 to 110. Now we have to start all over again just to meet the new requirement. Those who exchanged their 111 Beckham earlier are left frustrated. This kind of move really kills the motivation to keep playing.

What was the point of it if Beckham was already going to be in the gallery for even cheaper it just feels dumb to do all that work just for him to be in the gallery for 200 shards and a lot less time less

Bro, what is even going on in this Beckham event? EA must have lost their brain in the locker room.

Week 1: we grind every single day like zombies to get those **bleep** keys just to unlock 111 OVR Beckham. You need Base Beckham -> 108 -> 110 -> 111, each stage eating keys and shards. Fine, we suffered through that.

But now Week 3 drops and EA goes, "Surprise! Here’s 113 Beckham."

Cool, except it needs 111 Beckham plus 1100 shards plus more keys. So basically, we are spending around 1450 shards total on the same Beckham that’s available in the Gallery for 1250 shards, plus doing the same boring daily grind again.

Like... EA really expects us to recycle Beckhams like plastic bottles.

They seriously designed a "Beckham inside a Beckham inside another Beckham" situation.

At this point it’s not EA Sports FC, it’s EA Shard Simulator 25. Anyone else feel like they’re trolling us with these numbers? Or am I the only one trying to find where EA’s brain went?

At least that version should have been exclusive to the Beckham event.

Why does EA always go behind money and not consider the players’ effort?

Unless I miscounted, Beckham 113 costs 1,750 shards in Beck’s Verse and 1,250 in the Gallery Week 3. Yes, it makes the whole magic curve events a complete waste of time unless I’ve missed something

Now the exchange shows that you need Beckham 110, not 111. You’ll have to get Beckham 110 first to complete the exchange.

  • I haven't looked at it in detail since I never had any interest in getting Becks, so I wasn’t going to waste any resources on it.
But I've always told people to wait until the last week before committing shards or tokens. Historically, things have changed in the game that completely shifted the paradigm, so if you go all in at the start, you usually end up wasting resources in the long run. Any good guide would tell you the same, especially when the game itself has “to come soon” icons showing.

I appreciate your comments. The error is ALWAYS the user's and not EA's. There is so much cynicism in what you write that it's funny... like a bad American comedy.

Yes, EA has lost its way. I've already given up on this event. It's very difficult to get good players. I can't stand the hype surrounding X or Y player anymore. Everyone playing with the same cards... how boring!

Read again, I didn’t say it’s your fault or the players’ fault in general. I said that I’ve seen events change halfway through, completely turning things upside down. So, committing to chasing a specific card, in this case Beckham, with only half the details available, is always risky given how the events are being designed and then released incrementally. I’ve seen countless examples of early commitments that backfired and wasted resources.

I’ll give you two examples (a bad one and a good one in my case).

Rijkaard. I got his U/T version early in bDor, thought it was a decent card of a player I like, and figured he’d be expensive, so I ranked him up despite my better judgment. Then over the rest of bDor his price plummeted to around 250 million or whatever it was, as I didn't see a point in getting Nedved or Baggio for the extraorbitant exchange costs for +1 cards, and then Cannavaro came out being released super late in the piece, needing 111 cards (I needed a new defender and my previous Cannavaro was outdated). I ended up buying Rijkaards to pawn them off. I wasn’t going to exchange off the ranked up card since ranks are a scarce resource, so I ended up with an untradeable instead of a tradeable card worth hundreds of millions (easier to make coins than get ranks logic).

Defining Legacies released players like 109 Del Piero, Pirlo, Cole, and others. Many claimed the cards and ranked them straight away, then an upgrade to 111 was released in the exchange. Anyone who held off until the end, like me, ended up with 111 versions of their cards at the base shard or exchange cost, instead of wasting resources on 109s that then had to be re-ranked and re-trained.

Happens all the time with various updates that aren’t cool, but the point remains that when you go for something at the start of an event with half details, most times it backfires. If Becks was my target player, it would annoy me too, but I would not have committed in early anyway, especially since getting an 108 card via exchange seemed pointless to begin with, as you were given it for getting 3 keys instead of pissing away the resources.  Use the late changes to your advantage, not disadvantage, especially since this happens more often than not... 2c.

Don't blame me for what you said. I have a PhD, I don't need you to teach me how to interpret speeches, I've been doing it for years.

The game is a card collection game. It hasn't been about soccer for a long time, and we all know it. If people want to build a team with specific players because they like their skills or because they have an affinity for them, they can build a team based on those criteria. What can't happen is what EA is doing: sabotaging free cards, forcing people to spend money on the game. Stop being cynical. The complaints are always the same.

The Beckham event is a disaster. And it doesn't hurt to admit it. It's not a good event. And there's nothing wrong with someone wanting Beckham, who has great skills, on their team.

Spend less time defending EA and more time trying to understand the problems. No one tolerates EA and its long events anymore, where you never know what's going to happen. Previous versions were better because we could take our time putting together a team. Something that EA ignores today. 😉
