Is there an ongoing epidemic in the game? (127 Lahm Long Covid Issue?)

Dear EA,

I sent you another report, about how my goalkeeper is generously giving assists to the opposing forwards, and you haven't replied. In the meantime, the rest of my team has also gotten stuck in this—whatever it is.

Over the last 20 matches, my fastest and highest OVR players, have been running slower than a person recovering from a severe accident in physical therapy. My 126 Golden Finisher ST shoots at an empty net, but instead of scoring, he passes the ball and sends it out of bounds. My 2-meter defender with 230 physical rating can’t even jump high enough to clear a paper towel, and the 5 feet Messi beats him to the header. On top of that, they can’t land a simple one-yard pass.

If it were just one or two players, I’d assume they got injured and swap them out. But the entire squad has been affected. Is there some kind of epidemic running through the game? Could my 127 OVR Philipp Lahm have caught Long Covid and passed it on to the rest of the team? What is happening?

Did you implement this feature to add extra realism to the gameplay? More importantly, is this condition temporary, or should I start looking for a specialized medical staff for my Ultimate Team? Is there a vaccine, or something like that available to the store?

Please clarify. I am really worried.
