NEWEST FRANCHISE UPDATE:
So I finally got to hop in and play a game today to see the what today's update did as far as coverage goes...and I'm sad to say I'm pretty tilted right now. Really not happy at all tbh. One really positive takeaway is that Cover 3, Cover 6, and Cover 4 Palms really do work much better. I run a Cover 4 scheme and it definitely operates much more efficiently than it did previously. Concerning Cover 2, with Tampa 2, the MIKE really does get a little more downfield in coverage as intended, and with Hard Flats, the reaction and coverage is better here as they noted which is good news. The bad news, however, is the entire defense still consistently blows/abandons assignments and are almost oblivious to most balls thrown right in front of their face (though CPU still mind reads), and can't seem to knockout/swat more than 10-15% of passes thrown, while the CPU continues to operate like they're absolutely cranked. You can read above concerning my thoughts about the CPU and how it operates within the higher difficulties. Ultimately though, the few changes that were made did not solve much and sliders either don't work, or dumb things down the the point of pointless. Just no balance here yet, and that's unfortunate.
SUMMARY: Did the update help coverage? Yes! Does defense still suck? Yes! Would I prefer to kick myself repeatedly in the balls than play defense? Yes! Am I probably going to play Baldur's Gate 3 tomorrow instead? Yes! Does the next update need to fix this problem and come out sooner than later? Yes! That's all for now and thanks for reading!
