@JMEllis2020 they just need to release a decent game for pc, they still havr not done that. But yet what is to expect from EA. Only hope left for us is F1 since that one is more likely to sell for PC.
@crohty they are still trying to find a response, one they have not used yet.
Guys, make as much noise and influence as many people as you can to bring next gen to PC. Its worth a try... Im not keen on taking a back seat for another year or however long they decide to neglect PC gamers for. I started a twitter tag #Madden23NextGen4PC
- @Roninx007 Quite frankly, it's probably too late now. The ball's been dropped, the pooch screwed, use whatever metaphor you'd like. I strongly supported them in their return to PC, but I refused to buy Madden 22 because of this same issue and I guess they've decided they don't want me for 23, either.
@Roninx007 just download the mod for 23 roster, can be found on reddit. Also those mods include more detailed franchise etc... Just don't buy 23. They left you hang so do the same for them. Only thing they care about is your money, spend it elsewhere. As noted before, support indie devs to make better football games since EA won't.
Since it's now confirmed PC does NOT get any of the next gen features yet again, a better question is what ARE we getting for the PC version that justifies charging up to $99 for this copy / paste game on Steam? A roster update? A throwback tribute cover of John Madden? This is absolutely ridiculous. Last Madden I actually bought was in 2016 when I had a PS. Ditched that platform long ago as PC gaming is just better in countless ways. Last Madden I played was '22 because I could add it to my library for free with my $5/mo. EA Play account. Even then I uninstalled it after a couple days due to it not having any of the next gen features. I won't be buying this for PC yet again if the devs care this little about our platform. Good lord.
1 year not porting next gen to PC is understandable. 2 years not doing it is pushing the limit. 3 years not doing it says they don't care at all about their customers on the PC platform. There is no justifiable reasoning at this point not to port it. As far as I can tell, all you get for the $60 purchase price currently listed on Steam is a roster update and a tribute cover of John Madden. Ridiculous. Will not be buying the game again this year. I'll wait until it's added to the vault for free on my EA Play account like I did last year. But honestly, since Sabo, the modder who fixes all the Franchise and AI issues, has already said publicly he's out this year and every year going forward, I probably won't play it much even then.
In the future, EA, if you're going to release a PC port of the game, either actually put the same effort into it as you do for the console bois, or don't bother with the port to PC at all. Very disappointing!
This is so stupid, been buying Madden every year since 12.. This is it, I'm done.
- @Ingijudo Agreed. My football gaming goes all the way back to the original Tecmo Bowl on the NES. I owned every Madden starting from the original up until 2016 when I finally stopped buying it as it was clear at that point they didn't care much about Franchise mode anymore and I had moved on from console gaming to PC gaming anyway. Haven't bought it since then and only have played it last year when '22 got added to the vault on my EA Play account.
I still check each year to see if it somehow would be worth buying and getting back into, but it never is. Had high hopes this year they'd really commit to making a good version as a tribute to Coach Madden passing, but it seems like the same copy / paste thing they always do and the no next gen port for PC just solidifies my decision to not buy it again this year. For PC gamers, I don't see any justifiable reason to do so. @o---DaVeX---o just invest in maximum football, they are moving to the unteal engine and listening to their fan base. Franchise is deep in the game only the game play in matches is a bit bad, but since EA isn't investing in us why should we in them and not in the competition? Unlike EA thinks a lot of PC gamers are fed up with their strategy but lets wait for the official statement of EA, but have no hope they will have a logical explaination of this since there is none. Dev time, 365 days and PS5/XBOX were trying to be more dev friendly and have a verry similar approach to coding as PC games have. Hardware, a simple gaming PC most of the times outclasses a PS5/XBOX with ease. The early stage of the consoles: been released back in 2020/2021 so thats not an issue.
PC is one of the reasons they are as big as they are today, it feels as a loyal EA fan (have had almost all base games they have released on PC including madden 21/22) as a shot in the back. No way to make this a logical situation, mods are currently out performing what madden 23 with a price tag of 60 dollars will do next year.
I have ended my EA play, and won't buy anything from this publisher again untill they fiz this situation. (With exeption of F1 since codemaster as game studio isn't filled with greed YET)
