Asari Adept and 4 skill slots... that seriously would put the game out of balance. That is, if the 4th skill is another detonator like shockwave. So, a primer (annihilation) and 3 detonators, I would just ditch the sniper rifle all day every day. The current Asari Adept X maxed out is already an amazing character.

i also think we should be more clear... switching profiles doesn't cause cooldown, it's switching favorites. don't want to confuse people or the dev team, if they're actually paying attention anyway.

Yes, good one. Gonna edit my post just to be more clear
Switching skills' loadouts continuously to use more skills causes an interruption in the game immersion and it's boring af. Biotics need a fourth skill slot.
And I'm talking ONLY of the main game, not multip

Not only biotics, but every one needs more slots. As a soldier i can definitely use 6 slots. I rather have two favourites selection each consisting of six slots.
Well, Shep was N7, so he/she could use much more skills "at once". Ryder is a fledgling hero, so only 3 skills for now. We will probably get 4 or 5 in the sequel... ;-)
...and yes, this is an awful design. :-(
Or they could bring back the power wheel. That would be nice.
I like this idea too, a 4th power we can use
To those saying: 'a 4th skill slot would break the game, makin' ryder too op'
Well a fourth slot is an option, not a must. No one will be forced to use the fourth slot. I feel like it is truly needed in many occasions, especially if using a biotic ryder. I'd leave 3 slots in multip instead. Let's hope bioware reads this, or maybe someone will make a mod for this
In single player, I think they shouldn't stop at 4 and instead go back up to 6 slots. I still don't understand why they changed the working skill balance they had in ME3....only reason I can figure is they wanted "change" and didn't want the label of Mass Effect 3.5 or something.....It worked and was fun, add the favorites and don't allow mixing between classes but allow changing of classes with a cooldown.
By this I mean, you can use 6 skills, and up to four classes with associated skills. Then you could change up like Alec Ryder does with appropriate cooldowns between classes. By this I mean, you want Vanguard, fine you get Charge, nova, maybe lance, shockwave, throw, maybe something like turbocharge, or put ammo powers back into skills.....When you desire a change you swap over to say Infiltrator, and you get cloak, incinerate, flamethrower, coldray, turret, hacking, ammo power and maybe the barricade skill. The one thing you can't do is then mix Charge with cloak, keeping the classes different with mass effect feel, but still allowing you to adapt to the changing needs.
But hey, what do I know, I just fix cars for a living....
