Yeah, that's what I'm afraid of.
Combat in ME2 was the best of the three IMO. So, now it will be removed and replaced with some completely new combat system? Likely more akin to ME3? I don't like that.
The majority of the changes are going to be graphical with minor tweaks to a few things. And this should warrant $60? I ALREADY own the game. I can make the graphics much better already with ALOT, and game tweaks with mods.
Why should I pay full price for something I already have?
I love the game... But unless there's a substantial discount for existing FAITHFUL customers, I likely won't be purchasing it. I don't think what few changes there are over what I already have warrants the cost of another full game. Let's be serious. EA will give any discount hahaha these are the French, don't count on it. I am the owner of all parts of the game with the DLC. Ask yourself if you need a Legendary Version if you already have the entire series and have already completed it more than once? You don't pay for re-heated food in a restaurant.Do You need to buy? Answer is no, do not buy game that You have already passed because : they have slightly better graphics? I like the look of the predecessors, I will not spend a penny on the MELE game. I will play in old version with i like it. And EA, does not respect us, the old gamers , has just lost from my side a subscription that I had active last year even though I did not need it. Please kiss me on ...
I don't need to, but I want to. 😁
I know I am jumping on and repeating what others have said, but figured another voice can only add to the cause.
From my POV, I have loved the ME series (include MEA) and think I have all of the DLC to go with them on PC.
To make it worse I have various versions on XBox and PS. I think I own some twice on PC as it was cheaper to get some DLC at the time.
Although I am really tempted to buy this and play it all again I just cannot justify the price tag when I have them all sat in my library that I mainly paid full price for.
I get the extra work and care that has gone into all of the updates and I know they need to make a buck to justify and develop the games we all love to play.
Also, on the fence as to if Origin is the method to get the game as pretty much all my games are via Steam. Seems no incentive for me to buy this way for the same price (which I assume will be a contractual thing).
As stated in the original post, even a token gesture seems like a create idea and would probably tip me off the fence.
It would probably win EA such a huge amount of brownie points with gamers and get purchases via Origin (without Valve taking a cut) that you'd think it'd be a win-win and a major PR coup.
For now I think I'll just keep an eye on the model SR2 sat on my desk and keep my fingers crossed for a price drop.

Will there be any way to include (either via a redemption code or once Steam/Origin accounts are linked etc) to be able to have the ME:3 Collectors Edition digital rewards included in the Legendary Edition game?
There are digital rewards online right now. Be quick, they are time and download quantity gated.

Your choice. This is far from 're-heated food'.
I'm looking forward to a 120fps shiny playthrough with all the gameplay tweaks and polish. 🙂
@SofaJockeyUKMaybe but they need to reconsider this or add it to library in EA Play pass for owners all old games.
I expect it will make it to the EA Play vault at some point in 2022. 🤔
Yeah and despite my complaints, I have preordered on Steam and my Series X. I'm sorry, I'm weak and a complete Mass Effect dork and the Legendary Edition was calling to me like the voice was to Elsa in Frozen 2... I want this too much.
