I loved using the sniper rifle. I always defaulted to a class that used them simply because they were fun from a distance.
"Any weapon can work on any build now, and maxxing out 12 points is not necessary or even desirable. I suggest you create a new character and experiment with the weapons. Pay attention to the active abilities like marksman and carnage, they have been changed significantly."
One of the best pieces of advice I give players about it. You have to experiment with classes until you find the one you like the most and that works with your play style.
The changes in mechanics were nice for me. I ran through a few plays just with the LE.

I'm trying out a sentinel with a sniper rifle. I use a bolt action rifle like the naginata or spectre for traditional sniping and landing headshots.
But when dealing with charging enemies like thorians, I use a semi auto like the Volkov with hammer head rounds and fire from the hip and aim centre of mass. It essentially doubles as a shotgun.
