  • If i am not wrong you would have to request a refund within the first day if not hour after purchasing. After SEVEN days, that option is gone pretty sure. So i dont think there is anything left you can do beside legal actions of course but, i doubt you have even a tiny chance to get anything but massive additional wasted money out of that.

  • Why not explain the bug, many are getting patched and there's a ton of stuff in this game...

oh i explained allready waited for patch 1.05 game still broken on main quest line, clearly this is a broken product for any other broken product if you bring it back you get your money back, so i want that here aswell i payed for a complete game not a beta, i can live with a fwe small bugs here and there, but completly broken main story line... no that simply means the product is faulty.

Not sure how Origins deal with refund. If I'm not mistaken, Steam doesn't refund after you have played a certain amount of hours or if you have the game for a while. One would expect that, after you played a while and you got unable to keep playing, you would request a refund straight away and wait the problem to be fixed to buy the game again, if you wanted. Not waiting with a broken game as you went your way past the conditions of getting a refund.

You're going to need to check what your consumer rights laws etc are like in your specific country / region.

If you're from the UK look here - https://help.ea.com/en-gb/help/account/ea-uk-warranty-policy/

Unfortunately for the EU all that comes up - https://help.ea.com/au/account/origin-eu-returns-and-cancellations/   (Try going to an EU based Consume affairs / rights / laws website and see what they say there about your rights as a consumer)

Basicly what it comes down to is that EA has to operate within the laws of any country which they are selling merchandise in, so knowing what the laws and your rights as a consumer are in your country is SUPER IMPORTANT.

For example here in Australia, product that don't meet a reasonable expectation of quality or functionality we're well within our rights to have that product refunded. EA might drag their heels about it and quote things like "The 7 day great game guarantee has elapsed"  and "We can't refund this you've played more than 10 hours" but at the end of the day that's becase most people don't know their rights and will go "Oh okay" and leave.

Sorry I can't be more helpful.

yes thanks, i know my rights contacted EA phone support, they indeed keep dragging their heels, will see if any consumer organisation in my country (The Netherlands) can do anything about it.

Yes, unfortunate for EA it doesnt work that way, in their Terms it says 7 days to return a game unplayed, EU law (Ammended in 2014) states that a product can be returned within 14 days. Their terms are not above the law, if they want to sell in a country in the EU they have to follow EU laws. Besides this a defective product you should allways need to be able to return (Think law states withing half a year of purchase and their will be no devaluating of the product.)
