Mass Effect 1 Feros Bug - PS4

I got told to come here by EA support so...

In Mass Effect 1 using melee attacks or using high explosive grenades to kill the infected colonists counts as "saving" the colonists on Feros. (Yes I double checked to make sure I hadn't equipped the special gas that saves them. I had explosive kill grenades equipped.)

Despite getting the death animation from the colonists I beat to death or exploded with grenades, the game recognized them as being alive and awarded me paragon points instead of renegade ones.

I'm guessing it's a combination of the new combat for ME1 not recognizing that the dedicated melee is meant as a kill action, and maybe a bug where the game thinks I have the special grenade equipped when I don't.

Yeah, I figured out how to get around it myself by just shooting everything.

But I'm reporting it as a bug because melee used to count as a kill in the original version as it was part of automatic combat. As did using any grenade except the special plant one. And now both count as non-lethal when they both used to be lethal.

  • @Escampee  That's incorrect, meleeing the colonists in the original ME1 did not kill them, this was always a valid way to save them. I did this myself many times to save all the colonists.
