Mass Effect 3 won't launch, says unidentified game

I bought Mass Effect 3:N7 edition through Steam and it was working fine for all of last week, but when I tried to launch it on Friday evening it came up with an error. It says that to play Unidentified Game I need an activation code. I right clicked on the game, but when I click the game properties button nothing happens. The button isn't greyed out or anything it just doesn't do anything.

    Try this:

    • Make sure Origin and Steam are closed.
    • Press the Windows key and "R" at the same time.
    • Type or copy and paste "%ProgramData%\Electronic Arts\EA Services" (without the quotes) into the new Window > ENTER
    • Move the "License" folder to your desktop.
    • Test.

I tried this and it didn't help. Thanks for trying though.

The start button is missing in origin, there’s just a blank space where it should be.

Try to clear your Origin cache.
All settings in Origin (only in Origin not in the games) are back to default settings after this.)

    • Close Origin completely.
(right click on the Origin symbol in the task bar > close)
    • Press the Windows key and "R" at the same time.
    • Type or copy and paste "%ProgramData%/Origin" (without quotes) into the new window > hit ENTER
    • Delete all the files and folders in the Origin folder, except for the "LocalContent" folder.
(The "LocalContent" folder must remain untouched.)
    • Press the Windows key and "R" at the same time.
    • Type or copy and paste "%AppData%" (without quotes) into the new window > hit ENTER
    • Now your Windows explorer should have brought you to your "C:\Users\>your user name<\AppData\Roaming" folder.
    • Delete the "Origin"  folder inside the "Roaming" folder.
    • In the address bar of your Windows explorer click on "AppData".
    • Open the "Local" folder.
    • Delete the "Origin"  folder inside the  "Local" folder.
    • Restart your PC. > test

The Origin "Play" button is still greyed out?

If so you should contact EA directly. If you are not from the US change the country in the top right corner.

If you have trouble with the contact attempt look at this guide

You might want to link the Support Rep to this solution.

The support rep told me to take it up with Steam, but Steam simply redirects me back to Origin.
