Also from the Wikia article:
"During this early phase, BioWare also sought feedback from fans and modders with regards to what changes should be implemented.[20]."
Yeah I don't know about that one as some of the issues were resolved by modders and pointed out by players since the original releases came out, maybe Bioware only got in touch with a few select group and ignored the rest.

I know that BioWare got in touch with Mgamerz, creator of Mass Effect modding tools. The result was that many mods from vanilla managed to be reintroduced for the remaster very quickly. I don't think the goal of contacting modders was to bug fix existing problems.
