Mass Effect Legendary Edition ME1 and ME2 Crash on Startup
Both ME1 and ME2 won't launch from my Mass Effect Legendary Edition on Origin (I've also tried on Steam).
I've played many hours of both games and now all of the sudden, both games refuse to launch.
I open the launcher and it works perfectly fine, but as soon as I hit "Resume" on ME2, my screen flashes - the ME2 launch artwork comes up and flashes a few times, music then stops, and my entire PC freezes. The only way to get it to unfreeze is to open my Task Manager and hit "End task" on "Mass Effect Legendary Edition" TWICE. If I just hit it once, the music starts up again like it's trying to work, but nothing happens so I have to hit "End task" again and it finally unfreezes my PC.
I've tried:
- Disabling Cloud Saves
- Uninstalling and Reinstalling on both Origin and Steam
- Repairing the game
So far, only ME3 works from the launcher and I have no idea why.
I've attached both my DxDiag file and the error that I got from the Reliability Monitor for Mass Effect Legendary Edition when launching ME2.
This did not seem to work for me, but I do believe I did find the problem.
My NVIDIA 3D Settings were all messed up and the big one that seemed to fix it was the "DSR Factors" setting. It was set on 4x (3840x2160) and that was causing not only ME to crash but a few of my other games as well. I switched it to "Off" and now my game works like a charm.
