Mass Effect Legendary Edition "Repair Files" & "Error on our end"

As of 11/13 or 11/14, Mass Effect Legendary Edition fails to launch. Prior to this, the game launched without issue, and I was well into the middle of ME2. The game was purchased through steam, so...

I had a similar problem when I experienced a power outage while the game was open. All I did was find the "EA Updater" app in the EA app files which updated the application, then ME launched just fine.
