Moving On…

@EA_Mako @EA_David  and any other EA/Bioware representative…

I don’t know about all of you but, I’m moving on. This game is so bugged now, several of my achievements are gone, preventing me from gaining things like Advanced Training and squad mate loyalties. My shields can be taken down with only a couple of bursts from Blue Suns mercenaries when, before, I could hold my own against Collectors.

Squamates don’t hold positions, don’t use their powers, an enemy can be standing right in front of me within shotgun range and I can’t initiate a biotic charge, all Shepard does is say she can’t lock. My weapons, even when upgraded require double the amount of shots to do the damage they once did with half that. I emptied my Mattock Rifle into a Vorcha on Omega and all he did was stumble around from the hits. After reloading the weapon, it took half a magazine more to drop him. He was a normal Vorcha enemy, no barrier.

upgrades don’t seem to work no matter what category upgrade is applied. Hack Upgrade didn’t change the countdown speed, weapons do nerfed damage, and armor mods have no effect. I’ve been playing this trilogy since their respective releases so I’m completely aware of the differences I’m seeing since the June update. I have the original trilogy for Xbox 360 that is still backward compatible. That’s what I’m going to play, and from what is being said, I’m probably not going to roll the dice with Mass Effect 4.

This botched remaster is the product of the new Bioware, those responsible for Anthem and Andromeda, not the legacy crew. Only a bunch of new developers, uninvested to what came before would consider “rebalancing” what was already working for more than a decade. Sure it looks nice but, that’s about all they did right with this, and that’s not enough. It’s like plastic surgery: you can make someone pretty but, you can’t make them nice. Farewell Mass Effect. Burned once, not again.

I am blaming BIOWARE, can you not see this...? I am NOT blaming EA. I can say that EA has been involved with some stupid and questionable practices within the last few years, this is no secret, and I’m not going to argue this when Star Wars Battlefront is still fresh in the communities minds, as well as in forums. However, what is happening with this game is plainly on Bioware’s shoulders. Twist what I say all you want.

Now, as you have pointed out before, this is a technical assistance forum. I’ve already had some snarky fanboy dig into this thread for ammunition to throw at me in defense of his hallowed and beloved Bioware. I’ve basically ignored this thread since Saturday and I had no reason to return to it until your post above.

If you want to go on and on about the evils of corporations and the thanklessness of the gaming consumer class, then go right ahead. However, that is not indicative of your previous statements regarding the nature of these ”Technical Help” forums, YOUR words and, quite frankly, the inspiration as to why I wanted to walk away from this thread.

In all truth, I am not as down about the game as I was when I posted this thread. My friends spoke to me and I realized that all that is plaguing my game will be fixed as Bioware cannot ignore what is broken here, not with so many projects coming. However, I cannot seem to close this thread as there is no button allowing to to do so. I post here via mobile device so, if there’s a way to delete this thread, I’d do it.

  • Unfortunately.

    I have to agree.

Honestly mass effect was the best franchise that I ever played and when the LE was announces I was so excited.

Then it played perfectly for me, but the updated suddenly killed it and there has literally been zero help since the update happened, showing me that I have fallen victim to being a day one buyer. Never again.

I will contact xbox in the morning in the hopes of some sort of refund , because the product that I bought literally doesn't work anymore but I won't hold my breath.

    🙏🏼

  • @dominolabustier: Blame the corporate buyout/merger of Bioware by EA, not Bioware itself.  When Bioware was its own independent entity, most everything was grand.  Then EA swooped in & got their greedy tentacles on Bioware & effectively RUINED what was once a great game developer.  This is exactly why I'm vehemently opposed to all these corporate buyouts/mergers over the past decade or so  Micro$oft pulled off one of the biggest buyouts/mergers in the history of the industry when they bought out Bethesda/Id Software & others last September.  Corporate buyouts/mergers accomplish three things:

    1. Reduced competition/innovation in the marketplace

    2. Diminished quality of product/services

    3. HIGHER PRICES for consumers on various goods/services

In the end, it's all about $$$$$$/profits for the executives/shareholders folks...

That’s why I called it the new Bioware. What made them great is gone. Bioware is just a name, now. However, and just so it’s clear, EA didn’t invade Bioware with an army and conquer them through force, EA placed a ton of money on a table at Bioware, and Bioware said “I’m yours, sweetness”.

I know that’s a pretty simplistic explanation of their buyout, but, it’s a lot funnier at a time when I need a laugh… I’m going to check the Solved box and leave these forums, I truly am finished with this franchise, and this company. Goodbye.

That's capitalism for you!  As Jack once said regarding what Shep did to Niftu Cal  on Illium, "that was mean, but damn funny".

Ok, the LE may be a mess, but you kind of need to get some perspective here. The EA acquisition of BioWare was all the way back in 2007. Almost a decade and a half now. Unless you're going to say the last BioWare game you enjoyed was ME1, you've enjoyed games BioWare put out while part of EA, financed by EA. And if you really think that Bioware was ruined by EA for the last decade, why was the LE something you were ever looking forward to? You should have seen this coming. I don't think EA is the problem here, it's just a poorly coded patch. It can happen to anyone, not just the big evil corporations. *coughCyberpunk2077cough*
