[PC] ME 3 - N7HQ never links + "your connection to the game has been lost"
I thought I’d make an attempt to fully summarize an issue that I, and many others, have. But has never to my knowledge been solved. And often gets conflated with other unrelated issues.
Specifically, the main issues are (on PC):
- N7HQ does not update any progress (except Galaxy At War mini-game!). Reads Zero’s, and “we were unable to find any multiplayer data for this account”
- Multiplayer: If the host of the lobby quits (in game, or in lobby), I am dropped from the game/lobby with message “Your connection to the game has been lost”. 100% of the time.
- Multiplayer: I can invite friends, but they cannot then join my lobby (fails on their end).

Observations:
- This is NOT the Galaxy at War issue!
- My account is linked, and shows as linked. I've re-sync'd too many times to count.
- This is a persistent issue. Always this way, vever clears. Doesn't temporarily work after a server fix, re-sync's etc.
- This is NOT a PC/router/whatever at my end issue. I have another, much older Origin account with ME3, on same PC. Where everything works fine.
- And still I tried all the fixes (re-sync, repair, re-install on different drives, clear cache, update drivers, new Windows user, different PC, new account/purchase, virgin sacrifice into volcano …)
- It mostly (only?) happens on more recently created accounts (though goes back to 2018?)
- It does NOT happen on ALL new accounts (two friends created accounts contemporaneously to my new account. There’s are fine.
- But it happens often – I have made 3 attempts at new Origin accounts, with new copies of ME3, and they all were affected.
- Something similar seems to have impacted recent XBOX accounts. I have made XBOX alts to my main account. All have worked fine, except the most recent (2019), which has a similar N7HQ linking issue (shows my N7 and challenge scores, but nothing else).
- Did I mention, this is NOT the Galaxy at War issue? 🙂
While I can’t say for sure that issues are 100% conflated, the above info to me suggests they are. I had all the same issues on each afflicted account.
I’ve gone through Origin support cases, and eventually I run into the “we don’t provide tech support for ME3 anymore”. But ( a) I believe it is really is an Origin issue and (b) tech support who frequent this thread seem to be trying their best.
So, help me(us) Obi-wan, you’re our only hope (oops, wrong series)
