Re: Mass Effect Legendary Edition Purpose

This is how i see it, mass effect legendary edition was first an upgrade to the old edition from the point of graphics, second reason was to bring back the trilogy to the new generation, from an old veteran it was great to re-live the life of shepard and the story that was and still is up to date the most epic story, great character dev and it made me live in the moment, it made me feel like i was doing all that, making a better world one united galaxy build on trust and friendship.Another reason must be to make a path to the next game ME 4. I am not a fan of buying a remake version of a game, i think that the game has his own magic based on the year it was made. I love the only trilogy and for me the story andcharacters its 1000 times more important then graphics.

For me i was one of the lucky ones, my pc build did not heave any problems like crashes, and story linked bugs, only some very small ones chat did not creat a problem, i loved to play the legendary edition  with new graphics. I am happy to say that i am happy that i made the pre-order and i can't wait for the next game, it will take some time but still maybe we will get another update on ME 4 this year. And i hope for the future that they will focus on what made the trilogy epic and unique, don't follow the example of Ubisoft and what they did with Assassin's creed last 2 titles, i was a big fan if AC games, but now for me AC is dead and from what i found out about the future of the AC series it will get a lot more bad.

@Mrgaby95 There was a space for the original endings but knowing Bioware today they had two years out of three plus a multiplayer component to add to the third game to booth, they cahnged some things for the first and second games so why was the third game ignored? No credits import bonus, no weapons and armor import bonus, all that research on the Normandy SR-2 was left without meaning (except three Normandy upgrades) and the N7 missions don't have much of an impact (finding Prothean ruins and other things) unlike most of ME1 side quests. For me it's a 7/10 not because the LE is bad but because they had nearly 10 years to fix those issues and chose to give a near perfect remaster.

I have to chime in on this. Shepard, in Mass Effect 2 was working with Cerberus. It translates perfectly that none of this would be available to Shepard who, from the beginning, is under house arrest.

At the end of The Arrival, Admiral Hacket states clearly that Shepard will have to return and answer for all that he did. Vega tells Ashley that Shepard was under constant surveillance while under arrest.

There is simply no way that he was going to have access to anything gained while working with Cerberus. And his house arrest being interrupted by Reapers, escaping across a ruined, war ravaged city, and boarding a Normandy that only then was given under his command, did Shepard have any chance of access. Heck, Shepard’s reinstatement wasn’t even made official until after Mars.

Unfortunately, by that time, the only accessible items that would be around would be on the fleeing Normandy SR2. My point being: from a long-play standpoint it kind of sucks, but, from a role playing aspect, to have anything more would violate continuity. Unless the Normandy was also a bank. Look at the bright side, you got your hamster back 😃🐹

I get what you’re saying and, to have all of the cash and equipment that I rightfully earned would help immensely, however, it would be highly unrealistic and, I guarantee, someone here would be complaining about that. It’s one of those situations where you’re going to upset somebody.

As for all of the missions that don’t seem to have a payoff...? I played them for XP and I liked playing them, in general. Games are going to have filler like this. If only the main quest were present, you’d be playing the Modern Warfare Trilogy, games that everyone said were too short.

That’s how I view the side quests in Mass Effect 2, fun filler. And that’s pretty much all I have to say about it. It’s also only my opinion and has been since the original launch, and certainly isn’t going to change. So, to each their own…

@dominolabustier I mean if the Alliance can get their hands on the minerals on the ship then why wouldn't they set aside the funds Shepard collected or maybe the Shadow Broker would have helped in some aspect knowing the banks working for it.

@draconiamyou heave a point but maybe they did not wan't to change too much, it was a possible risk of getting hate for a too big of a change, but i heave to say i wanted a little more, like fixing old problems, for example the ! icon that still show up after a side quest is finished on the map of planets in me 1 and other small stuff that are important in there own way to perfection. 1 thing  i would heave loved to see them doing a better job is how the ME 1  characters look, like  anderson and others like him.

@Mrgaby95 ME1 got basically 75% of game changes while the other 25% went to ME2, the company fixed dialog bugs and the like on thise two games but apperantly the bug department never bothered to fix the dialog bugs in 3.

@Mrgaby95 They changed a lot in ME1 to the point I would say 75% of the fixes went to that game while 25% went to the second game development. In both cases dialog bugs and other things got fixed but when it came time for the third game dialog bugs and more they let it alone.

I don't know if you numbers are accurate or not, but the Ash conversation you mentioned is not a "dialog bug".  It was never part of the released game and therefore is also not part of the Remastered game.

@holger1405 Modders differ from that assertion, they fixed those lines in the original release on their own.

    @draconiam

Modders can do what they want, that's why modding is fun. 🙂

That don't means Bioware has to do that as well. As said before, Bioware said clearly what the MELE is if that is not good enough for you, use the old game with the mods.

(Some will be available for the MELE as well.)

This forum is not the right place for a social economic debate.

If you want to talk about this I would suggest to switch to PMs.

    Adding a friendly reminder here.

Keep to the topic and not derail it to political or economical conversations.

    Thank you.
