Save Data Error - Mass Effect Andromeda on EA Play PC

Hi all, first time posting on this forum and all new to EA Play.

I recently downloaded Mass Effect Andromeda using the EA desktop as part of the EA Play membership and was playing every couple days. Then one day I tried to load the game but it said there was a 'Save Data Error' and I didn't have the 'Deluxe Edition Pack' that was linked to the save, or is was uninstalled( ?) and that'd I'd need to reinstall the the pack resume playing.

I never uninstalled or installed anything new to the game to my knowledge between originally downloading the game and playing it since. So I have no idea how the pack could be linked to a save that was then uninstalled (?) supposedly.

I don't want to have to restart and lose all my progress.

  • @ElectricLion355 The only scenario in your case is that you didn't have cloud save active and something went wrong with local save location. Same could happen if you have cloud save active but manually delete your saves from game menu.
    You can test by installing Origin client and try to launch the game from Origin instead of EA Play.
    You can check if the saves are in the right place in your HDD: press WIN+E, select documents and inside that folder you should have one called "BioWare" with child folder "Mass Effect Andromeda". Inside of last folder you can find your saves and screenshots.

    Also, make sure in Origin and in EA play you have active cloud storage for saves.

    @sweetpoison0011

    You can't use Origin if you have a EA Play subscription, and EA Desktop does not have a cloud save function yet.

    What does it say about the "Deluxe Edition Pack" if you click the three dots in the Mass Effect Andromeda tile > Manage Add-Ons, in your My Collections page inside EA Desktop.

    Did you ever owned a different edition of the game?

    It says I've got the Deep Space Pack and Deluxe Edition content add-ons installed. I've never owned a different edition of the game.

    @ElectricLion355

    I might have misread your first message, do you have EA Play over a MS Game Pass?

    If not it is indeed possible to use Origin instead of EA Desktop like @sweetpoison0011  said and I would recommand it as well.
    Try to repair the game inside Origin.

    (Origin > Game Library > right click MELE > Repair)

    I however don't think this is a save game problem, it looks like that the version of the game you have is not longer recognised, respectively that the Deep Space Pack is not detected correctly.

    You also can try to set the "MassEffectAndromeds.exe" to a Windows 8 compatibility mode.
