Slew of bugs so far (ME LE - Windows 10) (ME1-ME3)

NOTICE: ALL of those bugs were noticed on INSANITY difficulty. Depending on the difficulty you might not even notice them (that hard), but on Insanity? They hit like an comet just got dropped on you.

Mass Effect 1

- Player character getting stuck into in looking one way, need to counteract a lot to prevent the character keeping on walking that way. Occurrence: regularly, sometimes debugs itself. Often need to reload. Compared to original game: new bug
- Mako not reacting to countermanoeuvre during free fall, sometimes can't unstuck the Mako when it is on the ground (especially in mountainous areas). Occurrence: rare. Status: new

Mass Effect 2
 - Player character getting stuck into in looking one way, need to counteract a lot to prevent the character keeping on walking that way. Occurrence: regularly, sometimes debugs itself. Often need to reload. Compared to original game: old bug
- Team AI running straight in 'elite' hostile opponent without any situational awareness. Occurrence: way too often (just slightly under 'every other second'). Status: old
- Team AI not correctly hiding behind cover, being either too far out or to the side. Occurrence: almost always. Status: old
- Team AI not noticing when an hostile is approaching and not taking appropriate measures. Occurrence: always. Status: old
- Team AI not hiding to recover. Occurrence: almost always. Status: old
- Team AI rarely using powers unless instructed to. Occurrence: very often. Status: old
- Team AI chosing the worst pathfinding possible (aka: around 3/4 quarters of the map, into 3 nests of enemies or straight through the fortified zone of the enemy. Occurrence: half of the time. Status: old
- Team AI abandoning the instructed positions when the player gets too far away for their liking (even if still in the same zone), triggering bug no 2, 6 and 7 in the aforementioned list. Occurrence: always. Status: old

Update: The most noticable moment where all those bugs come together is during the last fight on Horizon.

Mass Effect 3
-
Helmet moves when Shephard's talking when having the N7 helmet equipped (either version). Occurence: always. Status: new

- Team AI running straight in 'elite' hostile opponent without any situational awareness. Occurrence: way too often (just slightly under 'every other second'). Status: new
- Team AI not correctly hiding behind cover, being either too far out or to the side. Occurrence: somewhat rare. Status: new
- Team AI not noticing when an hostile is approaching and not taking appropriate measures. Occurrence: always. Status: new
- Team AI not hiding to recover. Occurrence: often. Status: new
- Team AI chosing the worst pathfinding possible (aka: around 3/4 quarters of the map, into 3 nests of enemies or straight through the fortified zone of the enemy. Occurrence: often. Status: new
- Team AI not taking any measures when being fired upon from behind or the flanks. Occurence: almost always. Status: new.
- Team AI barely responding to orders to use powers. Occurence: very often. Status: new
- Team AI abandoning the instructed positions when the player gets too far away for their liking (even if still in the same zone), triggering bug no 2, 5 and 6 in the aforementioned list. Occurrence: always. Status: new
- The autosave location for the last fight of Namakli: Leviathan is laughably bad. On Insanity you get dropped in the LoS of 2 Cannibals plus your companions don't move for a good 3-5 seconds after loading, in rare cases fully blocking you from getting away.
- In another note re N:L - the teammates get completely and utterly focused on the boss. You have to literally order the AI to use their powers on the 'grunts', and even then within a second they're firing at the boss again - if they didn't move to a spot where they have no LoS at all at the boss and are just doing... NOTHING.

Update: The last fight of Namakli: Leviathan becomes completely impossible. Even if you don't die due to your team AI not behaving as it should, the 'drop' locations for enemies make a fair fight impossible. Now, if the AI were to be fixed, the majority of the regular enemies could be taken

ME2 notice:
- Miranda's AI is somewhat too aggressive and completely idiotic when it comes to pathfinding
- Jacob's AI is completely suicidal in all ways possible
- Tali's AI is somewhat OK when it comes to aggressiveness, although completely unresponsive at times when it comes to orders
- Zaeed is fine when it comes to aggressiveness, same as Grunt and Samara/Morinth.
- Kasumi's AI is slightly too aggressive, same as Jack.

@EA_Darko If I may add one to ME1: I can reliably get stuck without control of Shepard in the Flux club on the Citadel. If I go to the dance floor and annoy one of my teammates to dance with me, and I then talk to the other one during the dance sequence, I may get stuck without control of Shepard after it is over. I can't move but keep triggering dance sequences. It may also work if I dance alone and talk to my team mates while dancing alone, not entirely sure (already through with ME1).

Don't know if it's impossible to do so, but I didn't manage to get out of that disabled controls state and had to reload the most current save. So that is pretty awkward and easy to trigger.

@EA_Darko A very noticeable bug in ME3 is if you are wearing the standard N7 helmet. it's chin moves when shepherd talks and it shouldn't

  • Updated, because the decent AI in ME3 got completely and utterly broken somehow by the Legendary Edition. How the * did that get done?

@N7Kiryu Just edited it in - also noticed it for myself now

  • @EA_Darko A rather big bug I got in ME:LE:2 was in the suicide mission. None of my team-mates were technically there. I couldn't command them, they didn't benefit from my ammo buffs when my ammo was squad buff, and they weren't healed from first aid. Made some areas very difficult, but particularly the platform area leading to the final boss. Hope this helps :D
