I can't remember the last time I gave praise to a game published by EA. I recently purchased MA:E and was pleasantly surprised by the overall quality and depth the game has to offer. I was skeptical because I do have some pretty high standards for what I deem acceptable for my gaming experience and this game meets/exceeds those expectations. Is it without fault? Certainly not, but while being rough around the edges, its still a gem and as it stands, my favorite space oriented game to date. I just wanted to say "Thank you" to everyone involved in bringing this game about and for you all to know I appreciate it. Rumors have it you guys will not be working on future DLC or even speculation that there will not be a sequel has me feeling rather blue, considering how much I enjoyed this game. Hope its not true and if it is, that you guys seriously reconsider this choice of action (if true). Really hoping things keep getting better from here, not stopping in the tracks because there is a ton of potential and the thought of having my Ryder in Andromeda carry over to a sequel is an exciting thought. The rumors are likely true but overblown. BioWare usually downsizes their teams after the game launches. For instance, many Dragon Age employees started working on MEA after DAI launched while the DLC was made by smaller teams (and the Austin studio). The same thing's happening with BioWare Montreal, but instead of working on another BioWare product, the staff have been moved to Jayde Raymond's Motive Studios, which is actually in the same building. It wouldn't make sense to get an entire studio to work on DLC, so their time is better spent on a new project for the time being. I think it's likely they'll return to Mass Effect once Motive's Star Wars game is done.

I loved the game, especially the history and the characters. I'm afraid of what will happen to Mass Effect after MEA, and i hope too that rumor are fake and that we will have new contents and a sequel. Thanks for Mass Effect Andromeda!

@RappeldracheI have no problem with the ME3 ending myself. Sure, somewhere in the middle of the series they changed the direction they originally went with but I am perfectly fine with how it turned out.Now I will say I didn't play ME3 till later so the extended ending and the dlc were already out by then. What I do think is that the original ending without the dlc would make little to no sense. I do get the anger around that. Not sure why Bioware thought it'd be fine to give an ending without explaining what's behind it.However, since I saw Leviathan on my first playthrough, I understood what was behind it all before I got to the ending and so the choices were more meaningful to me.Some of the mods I've seen are probably crowd pleasers because it gives people what they wanted, but that's not always a good thing because there's a lot of cheese in there and some really weird interpretations. But ok, to each their own.As for Andromeda. It's definitely grown on me. I just need the graphic quality to be more consistent, the audio needs some fixes as well as the UI and the CC. All in all I think ME:A will turn out pretty good in the next couple of months, but it's just a shame that they released the game in a way that could only gain a lot of criticism.

The two patches so far have improved at least the SP game noticeably. We're not quite there yet in my opinion but it is improving at least. They really did the fans and themselves a disfavour by cutting corners on the visuals. Not all of it of course, the planets look amazing and so do the main NPCs. Of course Ryder's graphic quality really depends on where you are and what the lighting situation is a lot. Now they have to fix all that. I mean, different people will have different gripes and I don't play MP much (just a few matches) so I won't comment on that side of it, but the reality is that there just are a few issues that really keep people from getting the full enjoyment out of the game. When I see that someone here got his MP character reset after playing hundreds of hours, well, that's pretty grim. But think about that. It's one mistake that makes him drop from an 8/10 to a 3/10. Fixing and restoring that could give a 5 point raise in appreciation. Just think about that BW. Now not all fixes are easy and I understand that some take longer than others, but whether it's MP balance, people being stuck at a place, graphics or audio issues and whatever else has come across these boards, it seems that people see the potential in this game but are being stopped from getting it out of the game, not because it's not there but because there are issues blocking them that would seem fixable. The sad thing is that some of it was avoidable but came into the game to save resources or were just plain bad decisions (like messing up the faces just on release). It's normal that EAware does this thing with studios and they really seem focused on Star Wars Battlefront and this new secret IP that they've been working on. My guess is that this is exactly the reason why they went cheap on the completion of the graphics and audio....to free up the studio asap for other priorities. Not because they want to throw ME under the bus but because there's a tight release schedule that gets in the way of delivering the all around quality that could've been delivered. So from my point of view, it's those decisions that made ME:A fail to impress and caused a shitstorm in the media. Something about a clean table with a big terd on it...sure, 95% of the table is perfect, but that 5% corner with the terd on it ruins the whole of it. That's the image I would like them to have next time they want to think cutting corners. People are going to forgive minor scratches and such that can be polished away, but not something that stands out in a place where it shouldn't exist. It's a rough analogy but I think the point is clear. I really see the differences with the graphical changes they made. It makes it more and more into the game it could've been and should've been at release.

If the support and communication you receive via answers ea is anything to go by, then i can only imagine the issues behind the scenes that led to the product hitting market with the flaws it had, hence the reviews pointing out the issues.

I've defended and defended EA/Bioware on this game and while i love the game, the feeling that some major game issues are being ignored (see my main posts.. i complain about 1 thing.. 1 major thing wrong.. and its not been looked at at all).

I cancelled my pre-order for battlefront 2 due to the lack of customer service received on this product.. once bitten.. twice shy.

I just posted my asari duelist rank 6 resetting back to level which I am very PO about. I love this game and had probably no issues whatsoever in single player. I thought the story was decent and I truly had a great time. But I have been posting and posting just like everybody else only to find the main issues not even looked at. I want to be against the EA haters and groups or whatever but I just put in over 300 hours in MP before Single Player to have it ripped away from me in one log in attempt to check APEX missions. I wan to give this game at least a 8/10 but it is about a solid 3/10. I'm starting to really think they just don't care. I'm not ordering battlefront 2 until reviews are solid enough to make a justified purchase.

At the end of the day it's all about dollars and cents, if the company can make a profit here with MEA, they will continue to milk the cash cow. If they think they can do better with other titles, then that's where they will focus their resources. Sometimes when you play a game, you could feel the passion behind the game, when I played MEA, I feel like people's doing a job, ticks in the checkbox, meeting deadlines, not much pride in their work.

Dragon Age Inquisition sold very well though, and it was awarded Game of The Year so it was not a sinking boat like ME:A.

I also really love ME:A despite needing much love and care (patches) ... But unfortunatly the rumours are true. Bioware Edmonton has been scaled down to a support studio, so they will continue to support ME:A of course, but as for DLC i would not hold your breath... I was hoping I could comment on a thread like this - I was a late adopter of ME:A because of time and life issues, but I really like it.

The politics of the nexus is interesting, the wandering around exploring is fun. the squad are pretty cool, and amazingly bitchy with each other at times.

In short - this is a good game. Well done to all involved. Please don't get too distracted by how easy it is for folks to cut and paste some hateful crud on the Internet.

Of course, there are always improvements that could be made and bugs that could be fixed - but that's most games/software to be honest.

I hope that there is more ME:A to come. I'd buy DLC.

Take that one article with a grain of salt, their sources can be hit or miss. MEA has been selling well, if not spectacularly. DLCs and Gold Editions are a good way to stretch out sales of the game. And if they get the bugs handled and the game stays fun for combat, people will hear about it.
