Game breaking bug on MANUAL gearbox with controller

So i just lost $20k because the controller layout isn't 100% customizeable. 
The cops started chasing me, and in the bottom right corner a message appears that the button for bribing the cops is also the same button I use for downshifting (LB). 
That resulted in $20k being removed from my ingame bank, because the game apperantly doesn't now how to cope with a manual transmission it seems.
I am looking for a fix or an answer.....

Game being played on PC with Xbox One controller. 
Trial Version of the game, thank god for that it seems.

We should be able to remap our buttons in NFS: Heat. Everything is R1 which is also the upshift button. I’m in a cop chase and I instinctively try to shift up but that only results in me losing $10,000 because that’s the same button to bribe the cops. Also when leaving a garage it’s very annoying to upshift and get sucked back into the garage and deal with the loading screens.

I have had such a problem with downshifting and paying off the cops being bound to the same button. After wasting tens of thousands of dollars I asked friends if they were doing the same. Turns out it’s a huge problem across all kinds of people. Love this game to death so far but this is a really really annoying thing that needs to be solved. There’s other buttons that could be used for it. D-pad buttons for example. It’s kind of terrible that the controls aren’t customizable in a 2019 game but if you don’t want to make that a thing then at least fix the obvious downfalls to the set control scheme please. Otherwise great job with this one. Such a great improvement over the last few. You guys are moving in the right direction, keep up the good work. 

This is 2019, and still, the devs are convinced that the controls should not be changed, they choose them for us, yes you can bind the keyboard, but come on! Keyboards are for FPS games not Racing! So now every time I want to go out of the garage and shift gears, I reenter it cause it is the same button as gear up! And when a police chase starts I accidentally lose $10.000 as a bribe because the shift down is the same button as Bribing the police!!

So, if you want to use Manual gearbox on Xbox one it is by default and locked to LB and RB.

So, if you get into a heat 1 chase and you need to downshift, you will bribe the police when changing gear.

If you are chaning gear next to the garage, you get pulled into the garage when upshifting.

If you are stuck next to an event on a wall and need to reverse to get off the wall, you end up changing car for the even when downshifting.

Look, long story short give us programmable buttons? Really not that hard considering its 2019 and this has been an industry standard for 10 years.

Great game, just clearly rushed and not cared about by the devs. Typical EA

They should just let us change the mapping. Like... Idk.... all the games???

Same problem here. Also, if you're holding the ebrake, you cant up/downshift. Makes it impossible to sling the car into a corner and drop from 4th to 2nd with the wheels locked up. Extremely aggravating
