Re: NFS Heat Progress not Saving at all

Thanks for reaching out to the community on Answers HQ!

Can we try the following steps first and then check if this continues?

  1. Repair your game via the EA App - Repair (Library > Tile Dots > Repair)
  2. Clear EA App's Cache (Top Left Menu > Help > App Recovery
  3. Check for other applications that may be limiting EA App or Game performance
  4. Run the System File Checker tool, then Check for Windows and GPU updates

  • So far I have done steps 2-4. For step 1, I don't seem to be able to see the Repair function under the Library/Tile Dots section. I will test to see if the steps 2-4 helps for now. Thank you 🙂

    It’s not working. It didn’t save my progress again and started me back from the very beginning

    Hey @fadedpotato06 

    Apologies for Steam is will be under the manage option, Verify the game in via your Steam library

    Have you tried running as an admin? If so, can you try to delete the save folder, verify once more and check if this continues?

  • I’ve already tried verifying the files on Steam but to no avail. I have tried locating the save file before but I cannot seem to find it in the common directories being listed by other players online. Is it in the steamapps folder?

    Hi @fadedpotato06,

    The Save location should be: C:\Users%UserName%\Documents\Need for Speed Heat\SaveGame\savegame

    If not it may also be in Steam; Steam/steamapps/compatdata/1222680/pfx

  • There is no save file. Theres not even a Need For Speed directory in my documents folder where it should be.

    Hey @CruelCopperheads 

    Thanks for confirming, is we cannot save progress or create a save file something may be conflicting with NFS Heat, or preventing it from making changes. 

    To confirm have you tried the following?

    1. Try running the client and game as an admin
    2. Repair your game via the EA App - Repair (Library > Tile Dots > Repair)
    3. Check for other applications that may be limiting EA App or Game performance
    4. Run the System File Checker tool, then Check for Windows and GPU updates  
    5. Restart your device in Clean Boot mode first then try again.
      1. Only run EA app and NFS Heat once in a clean boot

  • I have still not been able to find any save files for this game in the directories suggested

    Hi @fadedpotato06, Would it be possible to test this on a new user or admin account on the device to see if the game can create files?
