EASHL/WOC PvE mode

I’ve been thinking about a mode where you can take your club or drop in group and play against only CPUs.

The game mode will be a combination of HUT Moments/Wildcard and Pro Am. It will feature challenges for your club to accomplish (win by 5 goals, get a shutout, score SHG, etc.). The games and completed challenges will give you and your club level xp and battle pass xp.

A big reason for this is with how difficult and long it takes to find games this year. I think this will also be great for newer players to learn the game before going into PVP and for players who aren’t getting the satisfaction with Be A Pro mode.

Let me know what you all think!

Hey there. Thanks for the suggestion. Personally, it's not for me. The main reason I play WoC is to play against other humans. I like the idea of challenges though. Not saying this would never happen. That's just my personal feelings on it.

Can you tell me more about your difficulties with finding matches? Is that just 6v6 club games or are you talking about drop-ins? I mostly play 4s and 5s and haven't really had any issues with matchmaking. Other than the occasional game where we get a team of 2s.

I have had experiences where we keep going past the expected time it takes to find a game. Trying to either reset the search or letting it ride to 5 min hasn’t done much. Which is why I thought about a PvE mode for WoC, to at least get some games.

If the search reaches 2 minutes, cancel it and start again. I don't know if it helps or not, but in the uncommon instances that happens, canceling the search and starting it over has always gotten a match pretty quickly.

  • Personally I like the idea. It would be cool to work on team chemistry and have a challenge in a non competitive mode that's easy to hop in and out of in addition to it being a filler when you can't find a game. That being said..

This team has shown little desire to add anything at all the last few years. A project like this is a full year or more of development.

More than anything the dev team needs to actually put in work and close the gap with literally EVERY other major sports title so that the population searching isn't so low. The issue is that every year they tip toe around and fall slightly more behind we will see the population numbers drop even more. Profit generation drops more and development drops more. Eventually this title will completely flatline. OR EA will need to take a loss for a year or two actually put in a lot of work, hire on some more/ quality devs and make this game a top tier title again. It just feels so far behind and lots of former/ current players feel it. This current team keeps saying they are working on multi year changes but we're not seeing any of the fruit of this labor.. guess time will tell.
