So there's been updates, but haven't fixed the most glaring issues. When?

Two updates and you haven't fixed any of the HUGE issues everyone is complaining about:

1 - Poke Checking is broken (opposing players skate with impunity, and even if they are successfully poked, 90% of the time they get immediate possession back.)
2 - Wheels (absolutely ludicrous, turns the game into an arcade fest. Coupled with a passer with "Send It", game resembles nothing like the sport)
3 - Truculence (if the hitting couldn't be over-the-top enough, let's add in a boost that makes it even more ludicrous AND let's not call any interference, charging, or roughing penalties)
4 - Stick Lifts (in real life, when you pop a player's stick up, that means your stick is now closest to the puck. In EA NHL 26, you just take yourself out of the play so the offense can get the puck immediately back)
5 - Goalies (in some respects, there are improvements. This is a difficult thing to get balanced right so I almost didn't put it on this list. But, overall, they seem more sieve-like this year than last year.)

At least in NHL 25, if you were the more skilled, disciplined, and organized team, you were winning 90% of your games.

NHL 26 rewards incompetence, carelessness, and mediocrity.

FIX. THE. GAME.

You guys know that since that patch today, WoC isn't opening right? Getting an error code as soon as you try to launch it and then sent back to main menuEA_Aljo

Fair enough if indeed my perception of what I see is false. Again, the perception (let's be clear on this) is otherwise though. As for WoC issue are we talking about the stability one? If yes, it is still not good just fyi many stability issues, lag out, freezes etc.

Finally, when they put out hey, we are shutting the game down for fixes I don't really find it clear in game or my other source X (twitter) what changes have actually been made. Yes, we don't need detailed technical outline of code fixed but a better accessibility to notes of the changes. example: 10/2 "refinements to improve flow of play" as per @easportsnhl on X what does that mean? what did they refine to improve what that wasn't good before in the flow of play? So, I looked down the list of the patch notes, and nothing actually changed for improving the "flow of play" or maybe I missed it if you know what it was let me know. IF I am wrong like you said about the focus of monetization I'm okay with changing my stance once presented with new info.

  • I'll put it this way — this is my personal opinion and logical thinking:
The NHL game has been released every single year for over 30 years. During that time, the game should have become perfect — that’s a hell of a long time to refine gameplay and mechanics. By now, it should be flawless and realistic.
In today’s world, NHL should be getting graphical updates and improvements that push the game further toward realism.
But today? It’s getting worse and worse — we’re moving backwards!

Hey, MikessDevils. Appreciate the feedback. I can't agree though. In those 30 years we've seen huge leaps in technology. If we were still making NHL 94 I'd agree. That should be perfect, but there have been several generations of consoles now. So much has changed. Even with what people assume is a copied and pasted game every year, there are big changes under the hood that take advantage of the latest hardware of today's consoles. Not to mention new features, updates to gameplay mechanics, updated graphics, etc. We're constantly adapting to the changes and advancements with gaming platforms.

  • Hey EA_Aljo

I understand that a lot has been improved — that’s the natural progression across console generations. I’ve been playing NHL since 1997 on PC, and I switched to console starting with NHL 2010. There’s been progress, sure, but not nearly as much as there logically should have been after all these years.
The graphics have been basically the same for several years (with only minor changes). Cutscenes are the same, except for a few additions. WoC – Drop-In, Pond 3v3, etc., all feel identical. Clubs — the same… no real changes.
Gameplay? You can see for yourself how many negative comments and posts there are :( That alone says a lot about where the game currently stands — and where it’s heading.
I understand that the developers and the whole EA team working on the NHL series are small and have a limited budget — but in that case, they shouldn’t be selling NHL as a full-price AAA game.

He's been snarky with terrible opinions for like a decade. Im pretty sure he used to be a gamechanger which tells you everything you need to know about the state of this crap game.

Dude that’s the thing, you don’t need to provide detail on how things work, the player base is aware and we have a problem with it.

What you’re not realizing is that you’re actively defending things that are objectively bad in this game (AI IQ, stick checking, I’m sure if I looked through your profile I’d find a lot more) and in doing that you’re doing a disservice to the player base. This is EANHL. If any developer will value one positive comment over 1000 negative ones, it’s these guys. It’s okay to team with the mods here and there, even I’ve done so in the past when it’s warranted. But when people are questioning if you’re on the payroll (check Reddit lol) that’s gotta be a bit of a reality check, no?

All that technology yet you guys can’t remove time-wasting dressing room bugs that’s been in close to 10 straight releases

there is no defending this product, it’s a blatant slap in the face to one of the most dedicated player bases in gaming

did you get a free pair of beats from that lil partnership while I spent 4 hours trying to get into my dressing room? Haha

  • Ya no **bleep** "just play better". Obviously the tools are there to do stuff but you need to understand there are better ways to implement them and maybe certain tools could use a good sharpening.
Stick lift better is all you got? I just said that I've learned to play without it, I stopped caring about that as an option years ago.

You can still play "perfect defense" by blocking the pass and keeping thr attacker to the outaide but the AI sucks so hard its more than 50/50 the puck will still go in anyway

Indeed, already 30 days and no fix for Be a Pro, it's a shame. I hope we'll get more than just a simple fitness score fix for Be a Pro mode. So many elements are missing: Trade list, contract negotiations, injury list, retired players list
