Attempting to rank up my XP player but get error code

I have trouble shorter both the game and my Xbox and I am also wired to the internet. I have tried to upgrade my xp player a couple times and I get an error code and after the last time I tried to upgrade, the game deleted my upgrade token. Is there a fix for this?
