My son and I built atleast 20 custom teams in Xbox NHL 26 (to mimic NCAA) teams, and sadly they have disappeared.
We’ve checked the active rosters menu, tried reselecting online rosters and the custom rosters as active, but the teams don’t show up.
This is quite disappointing and was many hours of work.
Any ideas?

The only things I have noticed in my time of playing is that any players or teams you create under a certain selected roster, needs to be the active roster any time you want to use that custom team. So if you created all the teams under "Custom Roster 4" in the Active Rosters menu, you need to make sure that roster is selected in order to see any teams created. I think this is what you were referring to when you described that you tried reselecting the rosters as active, but just making sure.
Secondly, not sure if this was the issue or not, but I have also noticed that if you are not connected to the EA servers, it has trouble saving. Any time my console fires up under "quick start" the EA servers almost never connect and give error. I have to manually connect to the servers in the main menu. Sometimes, I have created players and teams while forgetting to connect to EA servers, and all my progress wiped away when I turned off my console. Again, not sure if this was your issue or not, but just something I did to myself a few times before I finally realized what was happening.
Sorry everything got messed up for you and the son. Sounds like a great time during some of these crazy Frozen Four games! Hopefully ya'll can get it fixed and enjoy the finals!
