I have the same problem, and they refuse to accept that it's EA servers problem. It only happens to me on NHL and Battlefield. Games made by other companies completely fine.

What exactly is happening? Are you disconnecting mid-game? If so, are you using a wired or wireless connection?

  I just played through the trial and bought the game. It has never once connected to the network, despite me being connected to my internet. Every time I open the game it just says network connection issue.

    Hi there. Let's see if power cycling your console and network equipment will help. Please follow these steps:
    
    Unplug your modem/router for 2 minutes
    
    Power cycle your console by holding down the power button on your console until it turns off
    
    Plug in your modem/router and turn on your console
    
    Try loading into the game again
