WRC Error 110 – Steam Game EA Entitlement / Login Failure, Cannot Access Online

Forum Summary / TL;DR

  • WRC Steam Error 110 – Online Access Blocked After Server Maintenance
  • Steam-activated WRC launches locally but fails instantly in-game with Error 110
  • EA Tier-2 confirmed backend SteamID <-> EA account entitlement desync
  • Cannot access multiplayer, Club events, or weekly league races
  • Issue started immediately after recent EA server maintenance
  • Local troubleshooting (file verification, AntiCheat reinstall, cache clearing, Steam relogin) does not resolve it
  • Posting to help EA identify and prioritize a backend fix

Issue Description

After the recent EA server maintenance, WRC purchased and activated via Steam fails to connect to EA online services in-game.

This issue is preventing Steam-linked WRC players from accessing online features, including Club events and weekly league races. Missing online access affects competitive participation and progression in time-sensitive events.

Symptoms

  • Game launches successfully via Steam
  • Steam ownership verified
  • EA online login fails immediately with Error 110
  • Game does not hang or timeout; failure is instant
  • Local troubleshooting completed:
    • Verified game files
    • Reinstalled EA AntiCheat
    • Cleared local cache
    • Steam relogin
    • Offline/online network tests
  • Tier-2 EA support confirmed this is a backend SteamID <-> EA account entitlement desync, not a client-side or purchase problem

Impact

  • Cannot access multiplayer, online progression, or in-game features
  • Unable to participate in Club events or weekly league races, missing competitive opportunities (e.g., missed first week after server maintenance)
  • Game was fully playable since late 2024
  • Problem started immediately after EA server maintenance (05/05/2026)
  • Local troubleshooting cannot resolve the issue; backend intervention required

Request / Contribution

Posting this thread to help EA identify and prioritize this backend entitlement issue affecting Steam/EA-linked WRC accounts.

Tier-2 support has already confirmed that a SteamID <-> EA account entitlement refresh or rebind is required for online authentication.

This also explains why the game is not appearing correctly in the EA system, despite Steam confirming ownership.

Sharing this information to assist EA in recognizing and resolving backend entitlement issues for Steam-linked WRC players, specifically related to server maintenance/migration issues. Any updates from EA regarding a fix would be appreciated.

    Quick update from my side:

My individual EA account is still unable to authenticate online in WRC (Error 110), and Clubs access remains blocked.

Additionally, I am currently unable to compete in a professionally run league that has just commenced and is scheduled to run for the next six months, as online authentication, and Club access is required.

Since Tier-2 previously confirmed this is a SteamID ↔ EA account entitlement desync, this appears to require direct backend intervention on my specific account rather than additional client-side troubleshooting.

Just noting that the issue remains unresolved on my account and would appreciate review by the appropriate technical team when possible.

    Thank you.

Pretty good result. Was resolved within a week.
Did need Tech support to reset credentials/authentication
Ran WRC, and game asked me to log in again, even 2FA worked properly!
I had to buy a second version of WRC on another EA account through EA App to be able to league race. They were happy to process the refund for that once the issue was resolved without any questions.
    Thanks EA, and tech support.
