Well I don't think giving customers the option to play with their exclusive Frostbite engine on a course creator was an option. And they had no chance to blow the competition out of the water with this game. Just about all my friends list are playing 2K23 because it's on PS4, they don't have a PS5.

You make a good point, but this was a conscious decision made by the developers of the game. They obviously thought flash was more important than substance when creating this game, and could sell this idea to consumers.
Please provide article/info of the top devs leaving EA? Thanks!

Since this game is a live service as opposed to a yearly title, it’s not out of the question that clubs/societies/co-op career/ course designer etc could all happen at some point.
Before then, the biggest issue imho is play from sand and the rough. For me I don’t think gameplay is nearly as bad as most on this forum think that is with that one exception. Rough and Sand need to actually be penalizing. There needs to be moderate to significant reduction in distance, accuracy, and spin from those across the board.
Agreed. I mentioned the rough and sand be much more penal in another post.
Also, the good people that participate in this board are a very small percentage of the people that play this game
Thanks!
- @7AnimalMother Excellent post! I completely agree with your assessment on rough. Definitely needs to be more penal. Blast from bunker isn't as bad. It's really the pick shot from bunkers that is ridiculously over powered! It's almost like EA became enamored with providing TOO many options instead of just providing challenging gameplay with basic golf shots.

As in "we can do this, this and this, it'll take X amount of programmer hours and testing" Management then says sorry not in the budget, don't have the programmer manpower or just not interested.
It really looks like EA made the game for casual/arcade golfers. One look at 2K's societies and TGCTours 2K23 site should have told EA there IS a large demand for a realistic golf game, with multiplayer capabilities AND there needs to be a way for all these players to meet up to do it. Heck HB/2K worked with TGCTours to create an API for them.
We shall see just how committed EA is to this game over the next 6 months. - @SamA329 Yeah, I agree. Being able to bomb drives 400+ yards into knee high rough then spin a lob wedge back 18 feet is just too arcade. If EA really wants to keep this live service game going they need to continue improving the online competition modes. Career mode was fun. But beating up a coded program eventually becomes boring. Testing your abilities against other players is what provides long term replay value.
Agreed.
i can just see some out of touch EA exec saying “With AI we can reduce our delivery platform costs!”

EA couldn't even reach the level of their previous release from 9 years ago. I never played Rory... and have only seen video content from it, but at least they had caddies that would tend a flag when needed.
If they had nothing but upgraded the graphics from that game, I'm not sure if the current one is any better. That is how weak the current effort feels to me.
