Guys please, revert. This update on putting is terrible. Additionally, the lip-outs are terrible. I've got 100 matches under my belt on this IP to learn the game and just getting a handle on it. I've played Amateur and Pro settings on TW since 2006, I'm not a new player.

The lip outs are clearly broken despite it being a new toy for you or not. You’re probably one of these tour or sim elite neck-beards crying to make it harder for everyone anyway and ruining the game for others in the process. Am I wrong?I’ve been playing Tiger since 2006, I’m an expert on this topic. Its’s not a matter of taste, but of functionality.Additionally, the ball logic on putting has been broken on this update. I bet it has something to do with the new code for lip outs.EA, please revert whatever you did. Putting simply is not as it was before the 3.0 update.

I think it would be so much more helpful if you could elaborate on what is actually wrong rather than just saying it's broken. How are the lip outs broken? How is the putting broken? Otherwise your comments could just be construed as just disliking the mechanics.

The putting update is spot on; putting was way to easy before as it barely took into account speed as you could plow the ball and it would get vaccumed into the hole...now speed counts

@agentputtI didn't mention the 0.1% originally, that was Wentworth saying it blowed passed being 0.1% overswing. Of course that should go in, that was my point. If you hit a 0.1% overswing and it blows way passed where a perfect would be then there's an issue in the game. If it only goes just passed a perfect, then that's fine. So therefore, if Wentworth is seeing it blow passed the hole with a 0.1% overswing, then they are placing their marker way to far for too much power.
Also, checked out your vids above and that definitely doesn't seem right. It's as if the ball looks too big for the hole on the 1st 2 haha.

Happened to me 3 times in my first online game that very night. Went offline to test things and it happens very frequently right through the middle and nowhere near hitting the ball too hard. I have 4-5 examples recorded on my PS5. Came here to see what's up and found everyone saying "not broken", "learn how to putt", or "spot on with the lipouts". Game deleted. I'll try back in 6 months maybe. IT IS BROKEN. PERIOD.
I agree the cup was a bit too receptive, but now it's comedy.

@JGWentworths Not in the slightest am I trolling or being argumentative for the sake of being argumentative.

Like agentputt, give examples of what you're seeing happen. Otherwise you say x% overswing or perfect and x happens means nothing. No one knows where you're placing your marker to say, "Hey, yeah you've placed the marker exactly where you should and that outcome is BS." You're saying you are putting the marker exactly where it should and the ball is blasting passed the hole without any context on where you're placing your marker. Ergo one will think you are NOT placing you marker where it should be.

I don't give a damn how long you played EA golf games for. A newbie to EA golf can tell you what seems correct and what not. He k a newbie can blow some very experienced players out the water. Who says they're newbies to gaming in general? Your comment was about this franchise. Who says they actually play proper sim golf on other golf games and irl and know better than someone who's played EA games for decades? Your point of being experienced in EA games is irrelevant to whatever issue you are raising and speaks volumes when that's all your basing it on rather than actual specifics of the issue to report to EA. You my friend are looking more like an EA troll than I am. Want something looked at or fixed by EA, show them what's wrong rather than leave them guessing. Pretty simple request.

What if someone has been playing since 2006 and disagrees with you?

What a ridiculous thing to cite time played as expertise on a topic or subject.

Describe your issue, I think the new mechanic is closer to real life then before where I made 99% of my putts within 10-15 feet.

I have noticed a few times where I felt I was screwed over when I believed it should have dropped but for the most part I welcome the change as lip-outs and burned edges are very common IRL.

@SneaklerIt is not common AT ALL for a ball barely rolling to roll right through the center of the cup. I agree the cup was very receptive, but you don't come in after everyone has learned the game building up for weeks and COMPLETELY change the cup physics. Also, ball lips backwards in regards to physics. It's broken. Next are they gonna change the swing mechanics, wind effects, elevation, lies, percentages?

@iglooman__TW I guess my issue is calling for a revert is over the top.

The videos that Agent Putt shared where it appears the ball rolls directly over the cup...or close to it...those are the ones that are ridiculous.

I just can't help myself someone saying I PLAYED THIS SINCE 2006 CHANGE IT BACK and doesn't even clarify their issue or provide examples.

That is the definition of a low-effort post.

@iglooman__TW I play this game at a top 1% level and I was banging in putts with extra speed and I loved it...couldn't miss it was so easy I'm not special.

They took it away...im kinda liking it. If these ridiculous examples didn't happen do you like the addition of the new mechanics overall with there being lip-outs?

@Sneakler When you break a game, the easiest thing is to quickly reverse it back. I absolutely calls for it. If they wanna try again and slightly tweak it later then ok. EA has done this in the past. 2014 when they broke the online bags reverting to new clubs after every game. they never fixed it and left this ridiculous glitch. We found a workaround but shouldn't they have fixed it immediately?

@Sneakler No, when you lose your lead in a very tightly contested online match due to a ridiculous center cup putt that would have rolled 1 foot past the hole if the hole wasn't there, you'll understand.

@SneaklerI like the idea of lip outs of course, but not just throw them in willy-nilly for artificial difficulty. I do have a tip though for those who might have the "assisted aim" on. Turn it off. I used it offline as it gives you basically the perfect speed for the distance and elevation. NOT NOW. This game is close to being great but also so far away. I'm gonna drop back in a few months to see of they've added real online play and improved this cup crap.
