all of a sudden i'm no longer hitting the ball straight all the time. its showing my stick movement all over the place on some shots and i'm slicing it left and right. Did they make it more sensitive or is it just me? I hope they didn't make it more sensitive because wow that just gave the cheaters even more of an advantage lol.
I've been playing a bit after the latest update having not played at all for at least a month. I've been hitting straight shots just fine and only occasionally messing up a swing when going for an angled swing plane. If anything I was wondering if it had got easier as I wasn't struggling after not playing for a bit so my suspicion is there's an issue with your controller @RichAC .

@RichACi play on pc with a controller and my shots are ALL over the place, also, some one my approach/finesse shot power is like 1.5-2.0 under swing or whatever that blue line is on the top. causes a major mess on my shots (i use the x-box series x controller where i can config the snot out of it and still doesnt help)
and thats EVERY shot i take, from tee shots, to approach/finess, putts, everything

all tee shots the ball is not going where its aimed more than 70% of the time (maybe even more). "patch" 5.0 was meh ok, 4.0 was good and anything before that was just fine, i dont know why you (EA) need to -fix- something that isnt broken
also the wind speed is WAAAAAY out of whack, im hitting clubs 3-5 YARDS longer than what the wind speed shows and my ball STILL comes up short, please (EA) explain how thats possible

I'm on the PS5 as well, and have had this issue from the tee box since the game was released, mainly from the tee box. I blame it on the RNG in the game, and the fact that I don't feel the dispersion zone is correctly represented.
Things do het a lot better as you level up your characters, depending where you spend your skill points and your selection on specs.
I also noticed that if you underswing it also keeps the ball more on line. At least it does for me.
I have also seen some really poor swing paths go dead straight from the tee box. I guess when you are teeing off andcthe dispersion zone is showing pretty much the width of the fairway it actually can go just about anywhere.

I think we need a little more context. Do you have an up hill lie or shot? And more importantly what does the distance meter say... do you have a positive or negative number?
Are you hitting it with a high ball flight? I have noticed the game does seem to simulate a ball ballooning up in the air when hitting into a heavy head wind with a high lofted club.
Heavy winds are difficult to determine yardage, because they are dynamic in this game. They are always gusting so who knows...
I am definitely not saying what you are experiencing is wrong. I have seen a lot of shots results I cannot convince myself as being correct in this game.
I regularly try to hit shots past the flagstick, where the distance meter confirms a +2.0%... so I think I have hit a good distance, and like you seen the ball fall woefully short.
