Returning players: is the PvZ2 tutorial still worth it?

Question for long-time players: when you reinstalled PvZ2 after a break, what made the game click again vs. what almost made you quit in the first few minutes? Specifically — do you remember the Player's House tutorial (the one-lane Peashooter intro)? Would you have skipped it if you could? Trying to understand what the early game feels like for a returning player vs. a first-timer.
