Tips on lag? (and tips on crashing)

For the record, I play the game on an Android phone.

I'm going to start by sharing a tip that I've noticed with those who read this, especially because I noticed many, many complaints in the thread recently about the game crashing. I've been astounded myself how much the game has crashed for me in the last week, month, year... This probably isn't the case for everybody, but perhaps it might be relevent. I occasionally play the game while I am underway, and it happens now and then that my phone will change its source of internet data (between mobile data, or an open Wifi connection). I've noticed that a change in the connection source can very often and quickly cause the game to crash. That being said, I also play the game in the comfort of my home with stable wifi, and it still happens on occasion (and more than it should).

Which brings me to the other point: game lag. Last night I played the evening cycle of Zomboss "like butter" - it ran so smoothly, no problems, I was done with the three battles in no time at all. Today - both this morning and in the evening - it takes me an extended amount of time, and I even use the fast forward! How can it take longer using the fast-forward button than it would in real-life time to play a round?? For me, I had the impression that lag occurred more often in the morning; I had a theory that it had to do with ads loading "in the background", the game trying to process and download more data (especially in the morning due to the daily reset of ad limits). Has anyone else experienced this? Have you found any tricks that generally help the lagging?

  • @awtessman The crashes in the battle arena are caused by the meteor flower and the crashes on the 4 levels on beach wave adventure levels need an update to fix them
  • Thanks @Lambsy65  for the explanation about what's going with the others; I don't use the Meteor Flower, so that particular trigger for a crash hasn't happened to me. But still: if I'm experiencing so many crashes outside of these current issues, there's something very wrong.

I remember this past Wednesday, when the new Penny's Pursuit levels loaded: I played Zomboss once, started the 2nd round and the game crashed out of the blue. I was pleasantly surprised that I was able to still play the 3rd round (instead of the instant out-to-lunch error). There was another day earlier this week: I opened up the game for the first time that day, managed to play through Pursuit and one Arena round without any problems, but when I started the PInata Party, 15 seconds in the game just froze and quit. It shouldn't happen this much.

@awtessman Insomniac here. Found playing in the wee hours of the morning seems to help. Know everyone isn't able to do this. Also arena seems easier, for some strange reason. Maybe to much coffee!
