(actual) lag
I installed PvZ GW1 on my new laptop two days ago and experience heavy lag since then.
Since many people seem to mistake their system beeing to slow for the game to run smooth, i want to clearify that this is *NOT* or hardware related issue, or if it is, it's solely about the network/wifi adapter. Playing offline resulted in no lag at all.
Is anyone else having trouble with lags these days? Is EA not caring about the game anymore? There is still full lobbies though. I'm from germany, could it be that most games are hosted overseas these days?
What I did already to reslove the issue:
*Run both Origin and PvZ as administrator, allow through windows firewall
*Disable Origin in game overlay
*Trying different wifi channels in Router settings
*(Re-)install driver for network/wifi adapter
My network/wifi adapter is a Realtek 8822BE Wireless LAN 802.11ac PCI-E NIC
I read that Realtek is garbage in general. Also having short, random disconnects sometimes while browsing with this laptop. Speeds are otherwise fine, 10Gbps down, 1gbps up.
Rest of system:
i5 8250U
8GB DDR4 2400MHz RAM
AMD RX 550 2GB GDDR5
I'm thankful for any advice on what else to try to resolve this.
Greetings
Jim
@JimFubar Running a UO Trace would have no effect on your network. There were some issues with servers last night for a while but everything should be okay now.
Looking at your UP Traces and you have connections issues, on the first UO Trace you have a packet loss of every single hop, anything other than 0% or 100% points to serious issues. On both UO Traces you have a Ping best/worst difference of over 100ms on almost every hop, anything over 100ms difference points to serious issues. I would recommend speaking with your ISP and showing them your UO Traces.
