Are the servers for PVZ GW1 on the Xbox 360 down?

I recently wanted to play this game again, so I bought Xbox Game Pass Essential and put it on my Xbox 360 account. But when I open the game I get the "unable to connect to the EA servers at this time please try again later" error. Why does this happen? My internet is connected.
