Hey, folks
Some players have reported various steps working. I thought I would update this with the steps that have resolved this error!
The idea is to delete all files related to the game from the PC so the download provides a fresh install with no older files in the registry or documents.
Delete EA License Files:
- Make sure the EA app is closed.
- Press the Windows key and "R" at the same time
- Type or copy and paste "%ProgramData%\Electronic Arts\EA Services" (without the quotes) into the new Window > ENTER
- Enable View Hidden Files and Folders
- Delete all files in the "License" folder
Please clear your temp files:
- Press the Windows key and "R" at the same time
- Into the new window, type or copy & paste: "%temp%" (Without the quotes.) > hit "ENTER"
- Your Windows Explorer should have brought you to the "C:\Users\>your user name<\AppData\Local\Temp" folder. > Delete all files and folders in it.
- (If some files or folders can't be deleted, reboot and try again.)
Thanks to @Sparkster90, The following steps have worked:
1. Uninstalled the game.2. I installed it again, changing the language to English. It works !!!
3. I uninstalled it again and changed the language to French, and IT WORKS !!
The last step is to rename the license folder itself. It does not have to have a specific name. tried everything suggested here.
Still doesn't work.
I've lost my faith in this company long ago, but this is ludicrous....

Could someone please comment on the fact, the the Game STILL asks for an ORIGIN-Account although I've uninstalled and re-installed everything via the new and updated EA-App. I think this may be the root of the problem.
However, this issue has not been adressed at all....

the game does not start since changing from Origin to EA-App.
Now i have a complete new computer with Win11 and freshly installed the game via EA-App and it still does not start.
The Error is on german but it is something like "PVZ GotY can not be activated for this Origin Account on this computer"..
Then it provides a button for the serial number but pressing it says i have no internet Connection..i added the game to the library via a complete new serial number for this game but still does not work.
As mentioned in another thread i delete the content of "C:\ProgramData\Electronic Arts\EA Services" and repaired the Game and restarted EA-APP but the problem persists..
Any additional ideas?

Hey @killemall74 , this error has been investigated for a while, it's generalised and teams are looking into it. Sadly there isn't much we can do except waiting for a fix to be deployed ☹️ - ctrip791 year agoSeasoned Newcomer
I'm having the same issue for over a month now. I've contacted EA support about it twice but no response! Did you ever get the problem resolved?

i have a same problem i come from Malaysia, my game version i choose english, try and try your provide the option for solve the problem, for this option is same like i go to find support, i have xbox game pass, so very lucky i no need purchase and become this problem and EA cannot fix it, i see many player is ask in this topic, so did your find out the pecfect way for fix this? actually i am so angry, because i ask support until end they say may be try ask xbox support can fix it, but until today i see this topic only i know your cannot fix it!
