Problem with Intel Driver update

Excuse me guys but even though I know this is kind of a old problem, I still can not solve the Intel driver update properly.

I run this game on my game laptop and I have tried every solution I could find: tried updating; 3D settings in NVIDIA control pannel and etc. I am pretty sure my laptop got the minmum requirment of gpu ( GTXforce 870m).

Here is my DXdiag information and please help me out. Thank you very much!

Looks like your nVidia drivers are tad out of date.

    Try updating them here:

    http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx

Tick "Clean Install" during the setup (under advanced).  This resets the 3D settings to defaults.

I personally do not install things like 3D, Experience, Sound.. but that's up to you.  They are probably already installed so I'd let them update.  I'd either want them up-to-date or not installed, not old though.

    -------------

Next force PvZ2 to use the nVidia

http://imgur.com/a/6KJBH#87BGUaE    (link shows Battlefield, just substitute PvZ)
nVidia Control Panel -> 3D Settings -> Program Settings -> Add Program (PvZ:GW2) -> High Performance Processor

    --------

Setting your Power Profile in Windows to High Performance and inside the nvidia 3d settings (Global) is a good idea too.

I have tried updating the NVIDIA driver and NVIDIA control panel settings stuff but the error window stills pops up. Have no idea what is wrong. Thank you all the same.

You could try updating the Intel Drivers here:

    https://downloadcenter.intel.com/

    That might help.

    --------

If it does not help.  I would try wiping all the drivers out (both Intel and nVidia) and starting fresh.

Uninstall from Control Panel (all nVidia drivers)
    Restart.
    Install latest again.
    ----

    ----
If it still doesn't do it.  ((Or just jump straight to this))

Uninstall from Control Panel (all nVidia drivers).
    Restart into Safe Mode.
    Run Display Driver Uninstaller.
    Restart.
    Install latest drivers.

    http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html

You can also uninstall the Intel Drivers from Control Panel while you do the nVidia ones.  I do not think you should have to use DDU to force wipe the Intel drivers but it won't hurt, if you do this do them at the same time, just don't allow DDU to autorestart for you.

If you get into trouble (i.e. Blue Screen) on the restart, go back to Safe Mode.   Go to Device Manager and remove the Video adapters,  now restart.  (you shouldn't have these problems if you uninstall with Control Panel before wiping with DDU).

Hope that makes sense.. I'm in a huge hurry.

    Hey @zephyr4u27 ( @WootCandy)

Hopefully I'm not missing something here, but from what I can see on the dxdiag you're showing an intel graphics chip instead of the Nvidia one you've mentioned. This is likely why the game isn't running.

If you do have a dedicated Nvidia chip in the laptop then you need to make sure the laptop is using that to run the game instead of the onboard one. This article should help you out.

Hi there, thanks for the reply. I do have a dedicated NVIDIA GTX870m graphic card on this laptop. I have already tried the NVIDIA control pannel setting and even wiped off the intel and NVIDIA driver and reinstalled them but the error window is still there. I can log into the game all good but I just cant use my keyboard and mouse. I noticed that in one former post which is also about this matter, someone said it may be related to the MSI laptop specifically. I am not sure about that now but I will keep trying to find out what is wrong here. Thanks again for your reply and help!

    Thanks for the update @zephyr4u27

That's my fault for missing the Nvidia part of your initial post, I knew I'd missed something as @WootCandy is always on the ball.

It's still strange why the dxdiag shows the intel chip but as long as everything is working I'm happy 🙂 Let us know if you find out anything more about the error report, would be good to know if it's something specific to the laptop.

    Thanks,

Yes, that method is working too.

    I've found another one.

    start game

when it loaded and not respond

    alt+tab to desktop

mouse right click and refresh or just simple hit F5 for refresh (probably will see a blink that things refereshed, maybe game window get orange too, showing it get inputs too)

    back to game

    it should be okay 🙂
