PVZ BFN not loading on xbox one.

Ive seen the recent discussions surrounding the anticheat fix for pc players, but is there a fix for console players? 

I recently purchased the game on sale from the xbox store for my son as he loves the series. Im a bit disappointed seeing the game loaded up to the title card displaying  “ press  A to play “ then freezes up, music stops, and it never presents a crash report or any message that i could report back on. 

curious if other players are experiencing this issue? 

(Ive tried restarting modem, and doing a fresh install to no avail. )
