PVZ: Garden Warfare issues

whenever I try to play garden warfare one of 2 issues happen to me, either my cursor doesn't appear on screen or it stays permanently on the screen.

the first doesn't let me navigate through menus and the other doesn't let me aim or shoot.

i've tried reinstalling the game and using the repair button on the ea launcher app
