PVZ GW2 isn't fully loading

Upon opening the game on pc (via steam and ea app), the game loads up to nothing but the loading screen background image. I've already tried basically everything I could think which includes : reinstalling, fully uninstalling then reinstalling, opening in ea, verifying files, and fully uninstalling both the game and the ea app. Nothing has worked so far and I haven't found anyone the same or similar problem as me with a solution.
