PvZ GW2 stuck on loading screen on Xbox One S

My game is stuck on the loading screen after launch on my Xbox One S

I have just bought this game on digital download as my CD was scratched. I unlinked an old EA account that I no longer have access to, and the game shut down. Now when I open the game, there is no pop up to link a new one (I want to link the EA account I am on now). I have closed and reopened both the game and console, turned power off at wall, uninstalled and reinstalled the game, cleared game data, cleared alternative mac address and tried opening it on a alternative profile

It seems like the game won’t open without an EA account being already linked, however I am given no place to link it. 

Anyone else had this problem who can help?
