I'm on Xbox One, and I'm noticing more and more players masquerading as someone on your side when really they're playing for the opposite team. i.e. a plant on the zombie team, or a zombie on the plant team. I know this isn't a glitch as I've had game after game over just the last couple of days where it's happening, even one game where 3 people were all plants on the zombie team, and you could tell they were working together. I've reported them every time I've come across them, and asked that everyone else in the game do the same. But clearly this is a mod or exploit these people have found and it's just going to get worse as more and more people start using it. Please Popcap do something about it. It really ruins the game when you can't tell friend from foe and are constantly being killed by sneak attacks.

What blows my mind is that EA mods clearly read this forum, heck there's a thread with a reply from EA Andy right next to this one. Yet there is absolute silence on their part on any of these various active threads on this topic. There are now several current threads on this topic on the reddit sub as well. EA?? Could you please address this topic in some way? I'm starting to feel like you don't care.

I agree. One of the Mods needs to tell us Popcap is working on this because I've had enough! I literally was in 4 games in a row where some A-hole was pulling this stuff. All I do now is report on cheaters and then quit the game only to go into a new game where it starts all over again. I'm not enjoying the game AT ALL right now! It needs to S-T-O-P!!! Seriously, Popcap you're going to end up with nothing but a bunch of losers playing this game because they will have driven away what's left of the real players. And once the losers have no one they can mess with, they will get bored and leave too. Meaning you will have NO ONE playing this game anymore!

Would be nice if they would let us know they are fixing this. Its pretty much happening all the time now.

Its a glitch they are exploiting either just bounce the lobby or keep killing them until it gets fixed.

I did quit the last time this happened, after I reported them and asked everyone else in the game to do the same. They need to be banned though.

good luck with banns if i cant even get banns for trolls that deserve it WIITH VIDEO EVIDENCE i highly doubt they are gonna bann players for using a glitch thats been in the game from the start but has only become widely known and exploited cause of word of mouth

Me too and I play on pc, I started noticing it last week with the 1st week of November event. I've reported 2 people so far.

That's why I ask everyone else playing in the match to report the cheater too. If you get 6-7 people all reporting the same player, then yeah they will get banned. And not just from PvZ but risk their whole account being suspended.

A couple of weeks ago, I was in a PvZ2 match and out of no where another player sent me a message calling me a very disgusting word. I reported them, and 3 days later MS thanked me for the report and informed me this person was banned. So reporting does work!

While the exploit does need to be patched you can counter it through the use of the Gnomish Perpective hat if you actually have it available to you; it won't be fooled by the glitch and will still display the cheating player as an enemy.

I haven't encountered this all that much on PS4 and the couple of times I did I either changed lobbies or put the on Gnomish Perspective.

One more subtle form of cheating I've noticed is players on the opposite team sending you Friend requests hoping you'll add them right away because then they can track your movements on the map better because the game singles out your Friends a little more distinctly.

1 microsoft is the one who banned the player not popcap

2 if he didnt send you a message and thus not report said message he would not have gotten banned cause he was banned for the message he sent not the * he did in game

and 3 this glitch has been in the game since launch i find it funny that people are only NOW demanding it to be fixed but i expect nothing less from the gw comunnity at this point lol you all are STILL not demanding them to fix the lag issues when people level up or any other bs thats going on in the game currently :P but im sure in a few months when the lag makes the game nearly unplayable (like its not already) THEN you all well be here demanding fixes lol

I haven't done this myself, I had a friend do this against me in my back garden though, Chomper vs Chomper is quite an intense battle! 😉

Players are doing this for fun most likely, and the more who do it, the more players will complain and the chances of it being fixed becomes higher.

Spunkybell, sadly I think Ur gonna be wearing that hat for the rest of this games'lifecycle, cos popcap have known about this glitch forever. ☹️

I think the reason people are starting to crab about this now is cos it used to be a somewhat rare occurrence that you'd encounter someone doing the team switch glitch and now it truly is rampant. Last night I played four games of gnome bomb on ps4 and three of those four lobbies had team glitches in it, with the worst being the first lobby I joined ,which had a team of four scientists playing on the plants side.
