Re: Another patch and PVP has barely changed. Still not even close to balanced.

@PheesleyThe lack of fall off makes the bots gods across the map allowing then to snipe you, the spawnables are pathetic in PvP and ops (Dr heals and bonk choy are the worst ones), engineer and 80s are overpowered and can obliterate 1v1 battles easily, explosives dont work half the time yet their knockback does for some reason, and healing is just broken.

Also branium basher is op and just dodge is not a good argument against it (just don't play bfn then lol).

I think we should be looking for more buffs than nerfs. Sure, Brainium Basher and classes that deal higher damage are going to be better, but they at least play better with the game's core mechanics, like the movement and healing. I believe the fact is that BFN'S damage is too slow for healing or sprinting / movement.

Peashooter and Engineer's damage is fine, and its about the same as GW. Both classes need dropoff. I think Engineer's spam needs a nerf and Peashooter projectile should be at least be slower. I think Oak's projectile is slower than pea's currently?

What I'm saying is that the game will benefit with higher damage. I prefer Pea or Engi over Soldier, Imp, or corn.

Abilities and upgrades are probably going to be a different monster, but i think higher damage is the best place to start. Or Higher damage with Damage dropoff. Otherwise, Popcap will be balancing a PVP that isn't even finished. Like they are doing right now.

Not trying to defend Brainium Basher, btw.

  • @Pheesley See this is where I kinda don’t understand, look bfn isn’t gw or gw2 it’s bfn. I agree with you on drop off etc but I don’t won’t bfn to be the exact same gw. I think that’s why popcap is taking this game in a different direction. I’m pretty sure that they are aware of damage drop off and how it would make the game much better and stuff but bfn is trying to be something new you know? I somewhat respect they’re decisions on how they’re trying to make game stand out in a way even if It’s hurting the game in general... lol but again I do agree with you tho

@GohanV1233that's kind of the problem. In their "quest" for innovation and making bfn "different", they are hurting the game. Dropoff is important in almost any shooter, and their methods for preventing classes from sniping are not working.
The class designs of the gw classes and their bfn counterparts aren't very different. When it comes down to the core gameplay, this game is just Garden warfare with sprinting. A little slower in damage, but still

How are they going to fix classes like Imp for example? Raise the rate of fire and give them huge recoil? That probably would not work for soldier or corn. Make their bullets drop drastically at a certain range? How are they going to buff low damage classes like Imp, without making them too strong at range, if they aren't using damage dropoff? They are just making it harder ror themselves, and they have had months to solve these problems.

@Pheesley Yep the problem is that they added a bunch of junk to an already working system like sprinting and verticality is practically dead in bfn and bfn being different isn't an excuse for it to ignore basic game design 101 especially after 2 games that already got fall off right.

@stukapooka high jump heights, sprinting, higher healing rates, overhealth, and they keep damage too low to combat any of this, because there isn't any dropoff. And because there is no dropoff, they can't raise the damage....

@Pheesley Yep the higher healing rates completely counter opposition alongside some healing affecting entire groups, healing in gw1/2 wasn't op as it was more of a kind suggestion that made life easier and regen was slower unlike bfn.

@stukapooka I think regen in bfn is ok. In GW, regen was kind of too slow, and if you were a tank it was like you never get your hp back unless their was a healer. I think what makes regen worse in bfn is how easy it is to escape and waste other players time while regenerating hp at the same time. Very frustrating to play against

@PheesleyThe time in between it is fine but i think the actual speed is kinda ridicoulos it rewards running away and hiding for it to come back and I agree that regen in gw1 wasnt really good as the half health system punished tanks.

  • I like Chomper's sniping, it makes him unique. Other normal shooting character wouldn't be able to have such shot.

And of course, I want Damage Dropoff  applied to some characters.
