Unless he is overpowered at long range to you as well...if that is the case...I can't really help you there....

So here are the overpowered characters that need nerfs and why
Plants
Citron and ice citron: take too much damage and have a very long beam
vampire flower: with the vampire upgrade she recovers 50% of health she takes and she takes 12-14
bbq corn: rate of fire is too high and very effective at all ranges
Zombies
marine biologist: the long range shot takes 25 and the close range takes 25 and literally blinds you with its explosion animation
chemist: takes no aiming to use and takes alot
all imps: hitbox improvement didn't do anything at all, they are still hard to hit. If they had 50 lives then they could keep their overpowered abilities and lil drake and pylon imp needs the most nerfs.
Meches have over 500 lives in reality because they have like 20% damage resistance and they take 10+ and shoot fast
pirates: captain sharkbite is sill overpowered and the abilities need big nerf. barrel needs more ways to be destroyed like empeach or goop, parrot needs damage reduced by 2 and 1 life because the hit box is broken , the cannon rodeo is now harder to hit like the cannon is like a wall
scuba solider: takes 50+ and has 2 bullets with very fast reload and they only nerf the tank commander...
park ranger: 7 damage a bullet and 2 damage and latest 3 seconds and can attack you behind cover alot.
All engineers: their bolt turret makes them hard to hit the turret is a wall
Character thats need to be buffed
All roses: give them 125 lives, nerf their damage, and increase their homing (beta)
chomp thing: needs more damage who cares about recovery when everyone uses close range weapons
six shooter: needs more damage and accuracy
As for the Imp, his regular state is fine, everyone complains about the Gravity Grenade which isn't even a full stun like the Engineer's sonic grenade while ignoring his useless other skill, Impkata. Use a single toxic or fire attack on him and he runs for his life.
His Mechs also have that huge hitbox and get crippled to death by a single pea gatling
Citrons are fine except for Frozen and Regular Citron's damage and ice citron freezes way too fast.
Vampire Flower is a joke if you actually 1v1, you won't believe the fun you can have with a team of them. 75 health with no speed or dodging capabilities.
Park Ranger...because 2 damage is SO bad? Come on, that is like saying stink bombs are overpowered because you are standing in them, don't stand in a toxic cloud. Using that logic, Toxic Citron should also be nerfed.
Marine Biologist, again, trades range for damage up close, and this one requires actual aiming.
What is with all the rage against Pirates? They should be the least of anyone's problems right now.
BBQ Corn is still overused...just like every fire variant in the game. They nerfed Fire Cactus multiple times in the first game just because so many people still used her despite all the previous nerfs.
If anything, Tank Commander should be buffed again instead, Scuba has to actually aim his shots and has only one reload upgrade. And for the record, being able to vanquish a sunflower with one magazine isn't a big accomplishment to be honest.
Engineer has a turret that makes him hard to hit, kind of like how Pea Gatling gives a damage resistance as well.
Why would the Law Pea out of anyone need to be buffed, he is fine and has two reload upgrades still. He still almost always wins a 1v1 like Agent Pea.
Only thing I care about is actually being able to fight a Frozen Citron without getting frozen every second, or actually trying to vanquish a citron without one of the twelve on the other team spamming EMPeaches.
As for Tennis Star, is it so hard for Popcap to actually balance him? Less health, more speed. Make his health 150-175 or something and let him get a speed boost on vanquish like Hot Rod and Breakfast. Is it so hard?
