Re: Proposal to modify Tactical cuke

I am almost solely a zombie player and I must admit that I haven't seen it being played much. It might be because it's super-rare, but in all honestly, I think the reason Tactical Cukes don't show up much is because solar already has plenty of removal. Squash, Wack-a-Zombie, Lawnmower,  Toadstool, Chomper etc, all of which don't pose a threat to your plants. At 6 sun it's pretty clunky, so maybe the problem isn't its power-level, but simply the class it is in.

There's only so much removal you can put in a deck, and I guess you gotta draw the line somewhere.

Note that tactical cuke does not work against untrickeable zombie

    Why 🙂

I haven not seen it too, only in some daily challenges, same with bog of enlightment, but agree with @UniVoidz , there are a lot of better others tricks instead of this. And you have to notice that is a cuke , and we don't have a plant who conjure any cuke, so is kind hard to conjure this.

I don't like simply because destroy my plants, just for that, is something random wait to have little plants or make a deck without playing plants on the grounds just for this trick. That bother me, in my case.

Come on it is an atomic trick
  • Here’s an interesting modification. What if Cuke were a 1/1 plant (same ability)? This would get around untrickable, but it wouldn’t be strictly better - you’d need a lane open to play it.

Still, that would make it different from some of the other plant removal tricks and might increase its appeal.

@puntwothree  Sounds like you're talking about an all-encompassing version of Grapes of Wrath, maybe put a timer on the plant version of Tactical Cuke, after so many turns if it's not destroyed it has the same effect as the trick version.

  • @markall42 my idea was simpler... that idea is interesting, but like Three Headed Chomper sounds like it requires survival. I’m thinking literally the same effect (“when played, destroy all plants and zombies on the ground”) on a 1/1 plant.

Functionally the same but would take care of untrickable (not a trick). You could theoretically play it on heights and bounce it to your hand or something... but again, it’s a 1/1... so its body isn’t going to hold up to much.

Maybe all happy with just -1 cost less? I dont like change ability because, i mean, you want a card who destroy zombies on the ground and both plants? So you have it, anyways if you or i don't like it, just don't use in your deck, but probably some players use it, with some weirds decks but use it.

  • @BlazinsZ -1 WOULD make Cuke strictly better, which I don’t care for, and does nothing to solve the untrickable problem, which seems to be what Lokko wants. So while this would clearly be the easiest modification to make, I’m not sure anyone would be happy with it.

Maybe the answer is to make it 1 sun additional. Then PvZ would have to offer us 1000 dust/Cuke and those of us unsatisfied with or ambivalent about the card could get some “use” out of it.

    Kidding. But only sort of...

After some experiments, I can conclude tactical cuke needs an improvement but still is useful and I use it instead of Squash.

Actually this card has an psicological effect on the opponent: once you destroyed all his zombie perpaphs legendary or improved...he will be reluctant to play lot of stuff on the ground.
