Taco Bandit (Dec 7) let discuss here

Taco Bandit will be playable through portal on Dec 7-17.

Based on the description, you will spawn to update backyard, steal other side tacos, bring back to your base, and defend your taco until time expired.

Here is my prediction for it:

1. Since each side has a castle and tall wall, it will be challenging to sneak in, I guess it will be a bloodbath to break the castle. But maybe, the Taco is just next to entrance...not deep into the castle.

2. The castle door probably needs to break in first. Note: only corn can husk hop to the castle and get an advantage for plant

3. Both sides will have a lot player guard on top of the wall and to knock them out, you need to have the snipers on both sides, I can imagine sniper player will have a party in this game. But their air attack will be useless since easy to knock down.

3. If taco is deep inside, to get out quick, you can exit via door or launcher. The launcher will be heavily guarded.

4. If enemy able to steal, the only way to stop it by launch as well or sniper need to do the job.

Well, let see how the updated MAP looks like.

I created this post so you can express your opinion,  feedback, enhancement, defect/bug, etc.

1. My first feedback, make this game mode permanent, not a portal.

  • The current mode is definitely not what I had expected and very much a let-down, but if I interpret yr suggestion correctly I foresee 20 minutes of constant melée with Corns, Peas, and All Stars Schuck shotting, Sombrero bombing and Imp punting indiscriminately.  Not really my style of play, and I think I'll probably move on to the traditional set of modes rather quickly.

I'd far prefer that they amended the Taco mode to the one employed in GW1 which is played on the shorter mode maps.

  • While I do agree with a lot of the points made here I do like 2 things about this:

    1. The taco respawns in a different spot each time. This prevents trap spammage as well as camping. In GW1, these were both problems with having the taco respawn in a clearly defined spot on a taco stand. Yeah, you could shoot the traps but having 6-10 spikeweeds was annoying to breakthrough unless you imp punted it.

    2. It's quick rainbow star farming. I find with some portal events, particularly Turf Takeover ones, getting stars even just for the 50 star chest can be a drag. While the coin payout is utterly disgusting because someone thought <3k was ok, I find even losing streaks can rack up stars nicely.

  • Looking forward to lunar landing the most.  Those are going to make for some long games.

  • I often times believe the makers of this game are sniper-style players (if they even play the game online; betting not) who just sit back and snipe or only prefer game modes like Turf Takeover that encourage (what I consider to be) cowardly gameplay.  Maybe the devs only listen to the team-stacking whine-bags on other forums?!  Heavy aim assist and rapid-firing single shot characters #forthewin ???

Why the largest/most open maps only?  One or two smaller maps would balance various playstyles much better.  In the last two weeks, I've seen SO MANY players using rapid fire devices for their Future Cactus, Law Peas, etc.... these maps could turn into nightmares for people like me who love to run the flag.

I hate to sound negative but every single update or mode seems to be geared toward one type of player only.  These four maps are some of my least favorite in team vanquish.  As if there wasn't enough ability abuse in the backyard Tacos, we've decided to add low gravity?!  Can you imagine the Citrons and Super Brains abusing abilities on Lunar Landing now?!  One Super kick ending with a thrust/jump or one ball burst from citron and viola - taco scored.  Better yet, how about spawning 1.5 miles from the battle in Coliseum and trying to catch up with someone running the taco.....  I mean - to me, Coliseum is the WORST map in the game for taco bandits?  Maybe I'm missing something.  If the cannons aren't added to these levels to keep the pace up.... I can see this mode tanking (people hating it).

I prefer tank characters and/or smaller maps for Capture The Flag modes and always have.  I've played CTF since I started gaming online and this feels more like TT than CTF to me.  Reactions and in-your-face gaming makes my adrenaline rush.  Hiding and poking people from across maps is cowardly and seems to be all the devs focus on and the criteria for this map selection/pool in my opinion.  Random thoughts from my perspective...... disappointed but not surprised.

Side thought: has whoever chose the crap map pack played Gnome Bomb online? ...... in Frontline Flats, better yet?  Essentially, we're creating a scenario where each team has only one target on each side of the wall......  smh.... hello gridlocked, 2-hour games.

Frustrated to see these maps only and not one smaller map in the mix.

Here's to hoping the community doesn't play these maps the way I predict.

    Blah......

    Rant over/done crying.
